what's wrong with the light switches? First I managed to turn one light off and turn on the other. Now, they're not working anymore.

EDIT: The cactus is named as "Hotspot 13".

A few more bugs I found:
1. Couldn't come back from the window after going ouside using extension wire as a rope.
2. If you release the 1st plug of the extension wire (on chickens' room) and then go back to the sleeping prince's room before releasing the 2nd plug, the extension wire vanishes in the air!

I don't understand... the text is readable to me. The hot spots are the ones that might give you a little trouble...

Can you provide the non-talkie version of the game, because the download is too big for me (and I suppose other dial-up users)

Clickteam has a free program called "Patchmaker". Could you please use it to make patches of your game? Ordinarily this is not a problem, but your game is waaaaaaaaaaay too big, and I don't wanna re-download it EVERY TIME you fix a bug.

Alternatively, do as Guest suggested and provide a non-talkie, since the talkie itself is probably still the same and I don't wanna download THAT huge thing again.

I'm stuck:
in my inventory I have:blue gem, extension chord, an ant, empty magic book, cheese book, wall paper (from the chickens), a broom stick, scissors, pin, remote control.
what I have already done:
  • turned on milk machine, inserted dime (no milk, though!).
  • switched the TV off anf back on, so the prince wakes up for a short time, mumbling.
  • went out the window with the echord, but couldn't reach the shoey things I could see in 1st floor.
  • pealed off wallpaper.
  • placed the vase over the top shelf.
  • and that's it.
Help?

Not bad.  I like the guy's voice as well, although I'm getting sick of him saying, "i don't know what to do with it!"

It's a bit pixel hunt-ish, like someone mentioned earlier. But so far, I like the puzzles. :-)

I like games with more puzzles than graphics. Juat a couple of bugs.

I somehow managed to get a free pair of goggles by messing about with the sea and log before I did the prince thing. Also it's possible to get stuck if you go down from the room above the start room and keep as far left as possible. There seems to be something odd about opening the fuse box, often it did nothing then without any advancement in the game it let me open it.

After the Prince turns into a frog, the couch thing he was sleeping on is still labelled "Sleeping Prince" for a hotspot.

I'm waiting for the sleep plant to grow. I've stuck the pot on the shelf and fiddled with the fuse box so tht lamp on the right is on. The mirror is on the nail and the seeds are in the pot. If I try to pick up the pot it says maybe if I leave, a plant will grow. However, I have run around the area (different screens) a milion times and still the plant won't grow. Is there supposed to be some way to water it?  Is there something I have to do before it grows? where's the last penny anyway?

I made a button that turns off the "i don't know what to do with it" so I had to add sprites, so if you update you'll probobly lose your saves.  :-\

  I can't get past the room with the ladder.  I poked a hole in the cactus, and I hung the mirror on the nail, and I turned the portrait around... i can't figure out what's next!

I'm almost sleeping on keyboard too, but anyway:
Yes! I had seen the soft dirt hotspot under the stop sign. But what should I use to dig it? What I was saying in my previous post is that this stop sign could serve as a shovel (maybe).

when I try to dig with my bare hands, Silly thinks that "It feels nice", but no holes!

EDIT:
Nevermind! I got it.
I didn't realize the main facade was climbable. You get to the other side of the locked door you can see in the third floor (inside). Found shovel AND third cent. Cool!

Trish, let me help you with the dimes:
1st cent: under shelves in cold room
2nd cent: Witch attic
3rd cent: behind shovel

I, too, need help:
when you use the round glass (soap + dirty rock) on the inscription on witch's house, you read: 1 entrance, 2 blue light, 3 yellow friend.
What I've figured out: these are hits to solve the witch's attic puzzle.
1: number behind picture in the entrance. 3: number tatooed on the butt of yellow fish. 2: ????
I found the words "blue=ant", so I'm assuming I have to shrink to take a good look at ants to find this last number??  ::) Already have shrinking potion.

It has nothing to do with. blue=ants... (that's somthing else)
and you don't have to be far ahead in the game to find it...

I see.. well:
Some algae or fish (!!) are known as bioluminescent (blue!) light producers.
I entered the sea and was then able to shrink myself. "Took" the fish and saw their teeth can be pushed/pulled.
There's no plancton on the water. Is the answer the fish? What should I do with its teeth?

The thing with the ants: is it about the blue gem I found inside their anthill?

Okay I am stuck...


I have the following in my inventory :

Scissors        drill
blue gem      empty box
ant                red gem
pin                broom w/ head
remote          goggles
wallpaper     magic book used w/ gab
lightning        water
fly                   shovel
soap


I cannot find this "dirty rock".   i cannot get the plant to grow and have used the seeds with the flower pot and watered it and have the mirror up on the nail and fixed the right hand light in the other room and the pot is on the top shelf.   i cannot get the salt. I have played with the fish but dont think i have run across the activation code for it.  i cannot get the butterfly...dont know if i need it or not (lol) but its not nailed down...just beside a poisonous spider that i cant seem to distract.

the 2nd code..you mentioned the blue light thing, i am assuming to do with the tv giving off a blue glow, but i cannot seem to find the code in that room, of course i could be way off and that wouldnt surprise me

its the tv i jsut cant figure out what with the tv and i dont know how to get a human hair...evidently the leg was shaved b4 it was mounted...and to get the spider...anyone got a clue i tried to use the box on it

The hair is in a exposed place, but you'll have to look hard because it's really tiny.

this forum is not liking me today...
well tv creates a blue light when i turn the other light off...or if you unhook your cable and get a blue screen...i did turn the other light off...maybe my screen is set up to dark or soemthing...i could barely make out the attic  and i only looked for it because some one else mentioned it

hum... i did it already after Yotam mentioned it, but... Switched off the light, turned on the TV. Looked at every inch in the room. Yet, no little numbers for me. Do I have to look at something in my invetory under this blue light? I'm going bananas.  ;D

Ok, I'm way behind all of you guys. 

  I plugged in the milk machine with the extension cord.   I pulled the paper off the wall... I have ant, blue gem, scissors, flower pot, broomstick, remote control, cheese book, magic book, and pin.

Yes, I mixed the cheese earlier.  For some reason this potion does not appear like the cheese did so I am wondering if I missed a step

I still cannot figure out the
tv thing at all, i turned off every light in my house i have gotten to the point where i was counting the clouds on one of the screens, but i dont think theres a combo on there for that puzzle.

i am also looking for the
fifth lightning bolt...i found one on the beach and 3 in the cave thing...anyone got a clue as to where the fifth one is??

okay i was looking for something in the tv room, yes number illuminated...can you turn the tv????  i see a brownish mark in the far right by the trampoline but its not illuminated when i turn the light off...i cant seem to turn the tv
i am gonna go play in there some more and see if i can find what it is your talking about

Okay see my screen is just too dark, i went to my hubby's desktop where he keeps the brightness way up for his online gaming and i saw it pefectly over there, where i could barely tell that is was there on my desktop...thanks so much for your help all...i bet you were sitting back thinking ..."how could ya miss it??"      LOL I know...too crazy..i am going to continue playing on my hubbys desktop and thanks for giving specifics cuz on my desktop set up i saw maybe a glimmer and seriously thought i had to move that TV...i was in there trying to hit it with the shovel ...too funny...

1. I made an option (in the options menu) that turns of the "I don't know   what to do" and instead it does nothing. :)
So whoever is fed up of hearing Silly say "I don't know what to do" just use this option (since update 1.02)

2. I should make an option for people with old dark screens.
Maybe I will, I donno.

3.
Using the salt water 3 times is a bug. one time should be enough.
I'll try to fix that. sorry...

For those of you who also couldn't see the number, enven with the motitor brightness and contrast set to maximum, a hint: photoshop can do de work. alt + printscreen and ajust these levels.

No I still cant find the lightning, but i did find a
handle, but where to use it...i got an idea of what it does just cant find the spot to use it, but i might have to have the 5th lightning first

have you gone to the roof of the castle yet?  there is a stone to move there and something you will need to get the goggles

you have to have the googles in order to get the feathers etc...  when you unlock the door to where the shovel is if you go back there is a frog...the frog needs to be used on the prince...the prince puzzle leads to the goggles

While in the "cave" stay small a bit and wander a little you will find another place to fit while small, you should be able to figure it out from there

Anyone found that lightning yet??  Yotamelal...am i going to need a lighter screen to find the last lightning...lol

okay in the
cave there is some areas in the sand by the grate that look important...lol but i cant get a hotspot on anything....am i in the wrong area?

When i did the update for the lighter screen my saved games were not harmed...and it worked well in all the areas except the cave in the water actually looks darker than before but then again it could just be me.

Well i am off for a bit to watch the CSI Season Finale...be back in a few hours

When you enter the witch's house she offers something up for 3 items and then after i made the exchange with her she continues to tell me everytime i re-enter that she has the item and will exchange it for three items...just kinda loops in the convo there but doesnt mess up the game

Absolutely great game...pixel hunt for sure but usually kinda knew what I had to do for the puzzles...love the artwork despite it being dark...Thank you for taking the time to give us a "bright version"..You did a great job IMO !! Thank you for the fun and the help with solving it.

You know, I made exactly the same mistake when I released my game, Larr y2 Point and Click - I didn't beta-test it, so after release I kept going back and fixing little bugs, and it must have taken me 5 versions to clear them all out. That sort of thing is very frustrating for the player, and off-putting to others - take me as an example, I haven't even started to play your game because I was to wait until ALL your bugs get taken care off. This is especially true since some updates disable saved games. I know you were actively looking for beta-testers, but thatr's not something you should do here, rather in the Games in Production forum.

We all make mistakes. Learn from this one and your next game should hopefully be pretty much bug-free when it reaches the hand of the consumer. :)

In 1.02 I added an extra option that needed sprites.

Heh, yeah, I know. I bet everyone does that. That makes bugs all the more annoying. It certainly happened to me, and I was convinced my game was bug-free... turned out it was riddled with them.

Incidently, when *do* you think the bugs will be sorted out? I *am* pretty curious about the game.

Actually I thought there would be alot more bugs.
And I got so anoyed from all the bug fixing since I started to create my game that it's allready above anoyance. (I had no programming background or anyhting like it)

2 people beat the game, 1 of them beat it twice.
I think that all the major bugs should be all fixed by now and hopefully also the smaller ones to.

If I add any sprites I'll make an alternate update that doesn't update the sprites so that you wont loose your saved games.
I think you should try it...


The regular Zooloo.rar link is always up to date.

When touching the
"weird pattern" inside the cave - there are 15 "slots" there, and some of them lit up. The fish also has 15 teeth. Depending whether you decide to count vertically or horizontally, and also whether you activate black or lit up numbers, you end up with four patterns.

white slot = tooth
dark slot = no tooth

I have repeated the operation, like, 20 times and no handle for uncle Stefano.
Is there anythig I need to do after playing dentist with the fish?

Bug: if you enter the cave while on fish zoom mode, Silly turns invisible. And so does the fish (sort of) , when you come out.

EDIT:
Got it!
I had to hide and then show all theet before entering the sequence.
Some theet are not hiding when you press'em at the first time.

you have to fit in there, first.
You can't get the handle or see the drainer right now.

if you blast "Shalaz" (is that the correct spelling?) with a lightning:
from the ground: the lighning turns into a mouse. A Floating Mouse!
from the wall: same thing, but this time you get a Floating Ant Line!

BTW, I'm sorry for keeping intruding and never actually talking about the game, but I'd just like to say that you've been doing very good stuff. You use patches instead of having people re-download that huge thing, you have been listening to feedback, you keep updating it so that people can be sure there are no more bugs... I don't know about the game, but kudos to you as a game supporter!

you can allso press preview first to see if you did it right.
If you don't it spoils the game for others.

3. The new updates should work if they don't then you should d/l the nosound version again. I checked in my computer & it works on the nosound versions... (maybe you tried an old update or maybe I made a mistake and had at one point an invalid version of zooloo-nosound.rar)
BTW your missing out alot if your playing with no sound.

I have managed to finished the game by redownloaded the game. I try downloaded the sound one seem there is error so i switch to no sound. It seem the patches for the earlier version does not work. Anyway keep it up the good work. Hope to see a sequel for this.. Maybe can see Silly at Zooloo doing another quest.

1. Yesterday for about two hours I had a problem with the main zooloo.rar (sorry). It's to bad you switched to no sound cuz the sound is a big part of the game. (you should check it out.)

2. The patches of the earlier versions only update the version before them.
Since 1.1 I have made the patches update any version.

Thank you so much for the quick reply, it helped a lot !!  Now, what's with the chicken feathers and the fish puzzle? I went over the answers already posted about the fish but it didn't help a lot. The chickens?? J.

Have u planted the seeds u find in the underwater?? U need it to take the feathers from the chicken. As for the fish, it is for later on when u have a potion to shrink urself.

You should update especially if you are having trouble with the
fish.
Now it resets itself corectly when you leave the room.
There wont be any need to turn on and off all the teeth.
And instead of one click making you leave the screen, now it's three clicks (makes it a little easier.

You need to enter the cave in underwater. Once in the cave, look for a special place which when u smaller able to enter it.

does he say somthing before you get more wings? like: "I need to take of my wings first"? or something?


 
Yes , anytime when i lost the fight with Tralaz and fall back in the castle i did get new wings in inventory, He say nothing. But when i loaded the game i have 1 wing and did now not get new wings -

Let's see.  You have to use the other end of rope on the pin on the tree and then throw stone at the machinery to get pin.  Pin helps you get inside.  I think this is correct :-\

Did you plant the seeds?? You need flower pot, mirror and drill to accomplish the task. And also bottle to water the plant.

Seems to be a bug:
When you throw the rock into the machinery while the gate is down you lose the rock. But when you press the button the gate goes up and you can't get it down again because you don't have the rock anymore.

Besides that, I think I love the game (also I normally don't like puzzle-intensive adventures!)

I first thought that the thing with the lightswitches in the second room is a bug because the left went also out without a word and I couldn't get it on again. It would have been certainly better when you would have gave the player a hint that it's caused by the fuse (don't know how to express that)
Another thing. You wrote ,,Milk Droor" instead of ,,Milk Door".
Nothing why you should bring out another update yet.
But you could fix some things with walkbehinds and walkable areas, because sometimes you  see Silly half in and half out the wall. This comes especially to mind at the hole above the trampoline.
When I tried to get a screenshot of this (it was too hard, I gave up  ;) ) I found another, very interesting bug. When you try hard enough at this rope above the trampoline, I think you have to move a bit to the right, you stand in the air outside of the castle wall! When you go at the right you will come like you would later to the island of the witch! You have to try bit, get up and down on this rope, but I could reproduce this bug! So, these are enough arguments for another update, right?  ;)

1. Did you get the Blue GAB Card? (with the wings)
2. Do you have the spider?
3. You should leave the gems for last...

I have updated the NoSound version with Update 1.1.5 - and there is a big problem in the very first screen...
The pin does not come out of the tree at all, no matter how many times you throw the rock?!

I am sorry, this bug was in ags, I added an extra script in the GUI and for some reason becuase of that, it ignored the last script.
Anyways, It took me a long time to find tat wierd wierd bug...

Have downloaded the game with winace - but although I saved the game, when I opened it up there were no saved games appearing.  Unsure of how this winace program runs, but It seems that I am installing  a  new game everytime I go to open it.

anyone give me advice on this please.

I have extracted game, saved it but all I can find on my computer is 'zooloo exe' ....no saved games. Haven't had this problem before using winace.

If you don't get zooloo.rar to work then I will upload zooloo-install.exe (a windows installer)

when i get to the deserted island i wasnt about tocontinue and a error occured
error:load_room:bad packed file.either the files requires a newer or older version of the program or the file is corupt

i have updated using all the patch but the problem still persist

I tried to look for the problem.
I tried updating old versions and I tried downloading the newest version.
I coudn't find a problem like that.
I have no Idea why it happened to you?

You should try downloading the no-sound version,
and copy the speech.vox & the music.vox from your non-working version.


zooloo.rar & zooloo-Nosound.rar are allways up to date.

It seems to me like your browser has a problem... or maybe the windows...

Make sure your windows is fully updated.
Download and run Adaware? (gets rid of the alot of the crap in the system)

Do you have a bad firewall or antivirus? (like norton or somthing?)
Try uninstalling all unwanted or unused software.
Try restarting the computer.

hmmm...

somtimes when you save a file in windows it saves it in the temp dir,
and then when you try to download it again, the download box opens and closes cuz the file is already in the temp dir.

Try using "search" in all of C: (search for zooloo) but before you search make sure in advanced options to: search hidden files/folders & system files/folders.
If you don't then it wont search the temp directories.

I have done a search and although it shows zooloo non of the files can be opened.
I am fed up of trying,I will try again when a different link is posted that downloads it to my zip or programme files and doesnt hide it.
I hope if I do manage to play the game that its work the trouble*sigh*

This game did have some hard moments.  Very fine effort though!  I especially liked the unique way of walking on walls and ceilings and how that ability was integrated in several puzzles.  I hope you decide to have another go at an AGS game.  ;)
