Howdy.
I'm wondering if anyone could direct me towards some tutorials on drawing vehicles (mainly sportscars/sedans and motorcycles) from a top view perspective, like the ones seen in the original grand theft auto games.
I've been googling for something like this for about an hour but alas, nothing. If anyone can link me towards a decent tutorial on drawing TV vehicles then that'd be appreciated.
Cheers,
Fluke.
I seriously doubt there is any since this view is more like robotic to draw. But, I can make you one later on today if I have time, I've got lots to do, but who knows. it's really all about calculation... how long is this, how wide is that etc.
Erm.. google earth???
MAKING A GENERIC CAR SPRITE (TOP VIEW)
1. Start with basic layout... Seats, front and rear.
2. Add wheels. Make sure all wheels are the same size.
3. Start covering.
4. Remove the underline.
5. Add colour and some shading.
TIPS: Flip and Mirror! Ignore the perspective, keep the proportions right and maybe google for "Car Top".
EDIT: It is fun making those... You can just edit the original.

Or you can use these ones from Nitro

more screens (http://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/nitro/screenshots/gameShotId,72727/)
you could try searching for the GTA and GTA2 sprite sheets
Or "borrow" your little brothers hot wheels, and look at them from the top. or buy some of your own if your desperate.

copying gta2 cars is good advice, I guess.
thanks guys, appreciate it.
This is for Hornet City btw, the game'll have hijackable, drivable vehicles.
