Title: ParkingGoat.com
Post by: tzachs on Wed 28/09/2011 09:07:02
I have been working on it on and off for several months, but now it is finally up!

My very own website:
ParkingGoat.com (http://parkinggoat.com)

This is a place to hold my games in a single place, a blog I am planning to start and game reviews I am planning to do.
Nothing too fancy, but please take it for a spin if you have the time.
I will also accept guest reviews so if you want to do a review and have nowhere to put it, look no further!

And one last thing, if you have a blog of your own with rss and want to join my newsfeed, please pm me, and I will gladly put you there, if you are not already there...

Looking good!
This is something I've been meaning to do for a while, but so far I've only started the planning phase. :P

I like the picture and I like the Ads by Google:

Adventure Games          Game Programmer          Curry Goat

It's like Notting Hill Carnival... with adventure games!

"If you don't know who OceanSpirit Dennis is, you should be ashamed of yourself."

Finally! Someone had to say it!  :D

Nice site, by the way.

I don't think advertising porn like that is allowed on these forums....

@Wonkyth: Thank you, and I know what you mean. I was stuck in the planning phase for years, the best way to overcome it is by just pushing through.

@Ali: Hahaha, yep, Google sure know their stuff... I think there is a way for me to block certain ads, but I am going to leave it this way, it's just too funny.

@Ponch: Thanks, but aren't you mad that I didn't put that quote on the home page?  ;)

@Babar:  :o :o :o

Not at all. I assumed you were leaving room on the home page to announce your next OSD game. There will be one, right? ;)

Nice one tzachs! It even has a forum, making it suitably retro ;)

@Ponch: I might, but nothing too soon if that was what you were implying...  ;) i have other plans for now. Also I am way behind on my OSDs, I still haven't played the one monkey made and all that followed...

@Mods: Thanks, and indeed you're right, retro is in right now, nothing llike an empty forum to warm your heart...

Tzachs, this is really a great site and I see in it the potential to become a hub for adventure gamers and indie lovers in general. Many congratulations, man! :D Bookmark'd! :D

What criticisms I have (and take them with a grain of salt, I'm not good by any means in the fields of web design and aesthetics) is that everything is a little plain with the black-on-white design (and I know I'm a hypocrite 'cos my site is the same, shush) so it might need some sprucing up with other colours to bring a little more style and character. Also, I'd like the ads to be placed somewhere less annoying, but I guess the whole point is for them to be in the browser's face so that they click on them and give you money. My (very) minor annoyance is definitely not an argument for you not getting as much money as you can from Google.

That said, these are small gripes with what is, as I said, a very interesting site with great potential! Keep up the good work, Tzachs, cheers, mate!

(btw, thank you again for pointing Noa to our band, you rock! :D )

Hey Dan, thanks for the bookmark and the input!  :D

Like you, I also don't consider myself to have any knowledge or insight on web design and aesthetics, so for now I went with an existing default template, and might get a designer sometime in the future.

For now I'm gonna leave it like it is. Since I already wasted a lot of time on it, I just wanna get back to making games.
