"You are Puck Darkvale, aspiring drug fiend. Life has been good too you thus far and excessive consumption of cannabis has kept you in high spirits for many a moon. However, recent illegalisation of all mind-enhancing substances by a corrupt government has sent the once peaceful land into turmoil, and now it's up to you, Puck, and your trusty dog, Bassi, to punch the badguy, snatch the girl, and last but not least, get high as all hell."

Damn, the police officer is supposed to chase the player until he breaks his neck =/, I'll get right on that. (Use Smoke on the police officer and enjoy the show :) )

Awesome so far, and the best way to use the 9verb GUI since a long time. There are a few unhandled actions in there, but this being a wip, it's almost not worth mentioning.

(Btw, this thread is now breaking the rules of this forum, you might want to at least add a second screenshot before Darth get here :))

Proof-reading feedback

  • "First thing's first" is not correct. "First things first" is correct.
  • "lose that and your dead" should be "lose that and you're dead"
  • "your still hungover" should be "you're still hungover"
  • "I was wandering" should be "I was wondering" (at least 2 times in the dialogs)
  • "cancerpatients" should be "cancer patients"
  • "illegalisation" should be "illegalization" (at least 2 times in the dialogs)
  • "intresting" should be "interesting"
  • sometimes you wrote "hottub" and sometimes "hot-tub"
  • "then simply looking" should be "than simply looking"


After that, I stopped keeping track. I suggest you export a translation file and have someone proof-read the English.
That is said without mockery; just an OCD guy being OCD.

  • When Vinitil speaks, the font appears black on a black outline, it's unreadable. (Note: I'm using DirectDraw5 with a x3 nearest neighbour filter on Windows XP) OK my bad, that was just a puzzle ;)

  • It's really annoying to have to "use" every door. I suggest you make it the right-click action by default.
