using spoon makes hero say "what do i eat with it", however using it via PickUp (for some reason) makes it availible
This is not really a bug - actually it's only an issue with the difference between "Use" and "Use Item on".
If there is no explicit action on "Use", it's the same. Otherwise you also can just click onto the Inventory item to choose "Use Item on".
I agree with you, that this is a bit confusing in this case - maybe I fix it in the next release.

Wanderer came out, i assume i need to grab his wand/help some how to turn the straw into gold and sell it to shop keeper? no? But for that i need to knock him out/find his mother somewhere? and it's not even human? I already poked every other character on the island to see if they know something, even both cat and dog. No dice there :confused:

This happens only if you sold one item - I think you have to solution now ;)
Note, that at this place there is also a known bug - please pick it up only ONE time.

Congrats, you are the first one I read who beated Part I. And 5h to reach your point is a good time, too I think :-D
There are 2 things you can do now:

- Retry to enter the party (do you really need an invitation? ;))
- Have another look in the corridor, you may have missed something...
I already know the bug with the ducks, it will be fixed in the next release. Until that you would have some Herring-Ducks to carry around with you :P

In-between moon logic episodes game really shines as a very good mashup of monkey island 1/2 locations. Who knew that

MI1? Is that Monkey Island 1? I never played it. Is the player of this game assumed to have played it and to remember details from puzzles or is this game playable on its own? The original Monkey Island came out in 1990 and I would presume that even people who have played it may have forgotten certain details after 25 years.

I...i hate when others answer with riddles. so here it goes. It depends what do you have. you need to get to the dragon, get him to sleep, find spoon and dig up the cup back, sacrifice it to the satan, rob the shop keeper again, turn the straw into gold, and get the crowbar from the second cell.

I made it to lonkey island and got a little stuck here

I solved a few riddles at the hotel, got to the navigators hut (he has still a hangover, but I think I have to wait until I can help him), have spoken to the fortune teller on the mountain and visited the volcano and got stuck on the ghost ship. I cannot get to the native's town, because the hamster cannot defeat the three-headed monkey. The hamster has only two ways to attack, and they are not very effective, even if I get a "Hit!".

I cannot "use" the mug on anything, so I cannot fill it with water.
When I'm in the kitchen, I click on "Use", then on the empty mug. But Guybrush immediately says "the mug is empty" and doesn't let me use it on anything.
Now if I use the powder on the mug at least once, then the exact same scenario keeps happening when I try to "use" the mug, except the message is not "the mug is empty", instead it becomes "that grog would be too dry" (same message as when you use the powder on the empty mug).
The message is reset to "the mug is empty" if I change room.
But maybe you didn't mean to use the mug on the sea, but the powder can directly? Well, when I do that, Guybrush says "this little can is nout enough for the ocean".

There's something he doesn't like at all. Just do it often enough. Be sure having taken what you want before.

I have noted that there is a fire alarm and fireplace in the room upstairs. However there's nothing that I can put into the fireplace and no way to start a fire. I've been around the island and there's no matches, lighter, etc. anywhere that I've seen. The only guesses I have are: hannibal has a cigar but you can't do anything in that area, there are some wires inside the restaurant, there's an open fire in the circus tent but you can't interact with it. I have noticed that you can put the stink bomb on the lawn but again no way to light it

Unfortunately I cannot proceed as I can't get past the gate and I don't know of any monkey in the game. I tried giving the joint to everyone but no one wants it. That's strange because the hint from the woman was that you need to end the party to continue the game. That allowed me to create the joint but now there's a dead end

The only monkey in the game that I've encountered is the 3 headed one so I guess I'm not there yet.
As far as doing a lot elsewhere, so far goals in the game have pretty much followed one after the other. Solving one challenge would provide the means of progressing. As I said, I did the stated goal of ending the party but I have no achievable clear goals at this point.
The only loose ends now:
- Getting food for the Sasquash. Based on the previous hint I am not there yet
- Getting the gate open. Based on your message I'm not there yet as there is no monkey
- There's nothing to do with the joint yet
- I don't know if I am supposed to but the guy with the gun is preventing me from entering the passage on the ghost ship
- Also on the ghost ship it's possible that I need to get past Erna but this is not clear if this is a goal.
- I think that I still need pepper as the one on the ship can't be used.
I don't know if I need to do something with the items from the shop (elvis plate and stink bomb and t shirts) so I don't want to waste the money yet till I see a purpose. I don't know if I need myrtle so I don't want to spend the money there either. I don't know if you can run out of money in this game so I don't want to spend until I know that I need to. I also don't know if I need to do anything with the guys outside the casino or the haystack in the circus.
If I could get some direction that would be appreciated.

Don't know what 'important but useless' item to give Bertold. The red herring seems the obvious choice, but I fed it to the cat! Also thought of the credit note, but I burnt that to set off the cannon.
Can't get past Weird Al. It looks like I need some kind of weapon and I've tried using everything in my inventory.
Don't know how to get the band to play a new song. I'm guessing I need them to play something loud so the captain can't hear me sneaking about?
Also still need to find the 'monkey' for the nose.

Well, I did the stink bomb on the garden and the gardener is upset. It looks like there are multiple ways to solve some puzzles as I used the stink bomb to solve the puzzle that let me get to the clearing with the giant monkey head and used the fake vomit to distract the gardener (I think you just need to do this so he'll let you take the cannabis?)
Have you been to the village with the vegan cannibals yet? I think there's some stuff you can do there with the items you've got.

You probably ran into a known BUG!

If you enter the village the first time, pick up the fruits.
After that the cannibals will appear if you just go left.
Do NOT go instantly in one of the shacks after picking up the fruits, since Grisush won't trigger the appearance of the cannibals while going to a shack-door.
If you already have done this, you have only the choice of reload a savegame.

You can give them one of the t-shirts, but you have to use the weaver's crook first to change its colour. Might have to use the crook on the ball of twine first (and maybe ask the lady of the summit about the twine to find out it was made by the weavers).

I'm up to the dinosaur and I can't get out of that room because I need a map or guide. I assume that the herring is the guide because of the way he holds it when you use it but I can't use anything on it. Herbert is no help.

Use the gold herring on the stone pedestal and you'll see that it reacts. Use the gold herring again on one of the skeleton wall decorations (I think it's one of the ones on the right) and you'll find the other stone disc. Place both discs on the pedestal
You get the clue for the order by looking at the voodoo cookbook

Made quite a bit of progress in part 5 and have got something from the head, thread and dead for the voodoo doll recipe but can't find something from the body. Have tried giving the governor the Popsi Lie, chocolate coins and gold herring but it doesn't seem to do anything. Suspect I might need to do something to the Popsi Lie before giving it to her? Also can't get past the choleric commode.
I am stuck on Lonkey Island.

I got the lukewarm cervisia, order card, paddle, and lemon. I can't figure out how to make a cannonball or get past the guy. I can't get the pencil or get into the party. What should I do next?

Push (or maybe pull?) the do not disturb sign upstairs at the hotel to flip it round and wait for the receptionist to come and clean the room. Quickly head downstairs and grab the pencil

Talk to the guest at the party with the pig head and insult them until their head explodes. Pick up the deflated head, which can be blown up and used on the cannon

my mojo book says 3 portions you need 2 ounces of duck fins, 8 drips of tippex. I lined up the 3, duck foot and phial pointing to the top and it doesn't open.I pushed the central bolt. Maybe you do something else to open it?

Did it. There are also different endings. Some puzzles were not well balanced (or ingame clues not helpful). If i had designed them they would have been a lot worse :)

- use the hot sauce on the hamster

I also worked this out by trial and error, but it's a reference to the game Loom. It certainly helps a lot if you've played all the old LucasArts adventures.

Now I am stuck on how to open the gate to get to the Monkey Head and how to get the ghost pirate band to stop playing. I read past comments and they said I'm supposed to get a "monkey" to open the gate for me, but I'm not catching the drift. Also, I assume I'm supposed to get the drink from the sleeping pirate, but I can't do that.

the pepper comes from ball of twine fish place. use chicken to get there- make sure you use weaver wand to change the big ball of twine and one of the shirts you bought- to stop party you need logs when willie gives you the key- to get into clearing you have to use love bomb with woman on beach (switching bomb you buy- she will follow you- once you stop party pick up the joint from floor- the three headed monkey has to fight hamster- give hamster hemp, and cervisa and I can't remember what else hope this helps you a little

take the rope from the canon and cut a piece off. You can enter the galley still after a bit of discussion.
And load the cannon from the front (the gun barrel) with gun powder, then ignite the paper go up via the bar,
light the fuse and then I do not remember if you use the colander or the cannon

"I need the rope in one piece" - no chance of cutting it, not when it's at the cannon nor, when i take it.
Then something else needs to be done, for example:
- get rid of the sheriff, I only saw now that perhaps this is missing

burn the voodoo doll in the stove, then extinguish the fire in the VIP cabin, go to sleep
jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, thank you, that was it.
After Sheriff is off, i could cut rope and use it as a fuse.
important: use colander FAST, otherwise fuse is burning off, and you must again get gun powder and cut rope.
Hint: If credit card is burned, you can use flyer instead, and you can take a flayer as often you need it...

I feed dragon meat two times wont give me riddle answer do i start over?
I had the same problem with that dragon. I tried feeding the meat several times too, and he would not give me the answer. No one would...until I had to sell off a certain item for money to give to a certain person, for the answer.
I don't remember having to do it this way the first time I played the game, and I'm wondering if this is something new because of the updated version of Lonkey Island that was just uploaded this week...?
And so, because the meat thing didn't work, I'm hoping and praying that I didn't sell an item that I might need (and become stuck because of) later in the game. It's a very long game and I am determined to finish it this time!
Anyone know?

I got to the bifurcation, already picked up the recipe and took it back to the ship, where the barman said he could make it, but I stuffed around with the catapult and sank the ship!

When preparing the voodoo doll, I use the mercury cola in the oven. Then I use the button for light up the oven and then use the bio tnt in the pot. The voodoo doll is ready, but when I try to push the button again in order to turn off the oven, everything explode and the game getting over.
What should I do?

Actually, you have not to put the mercury coke in the oven, but just the ingredients in the pot. :grin:

As a note: There should be two different controls. One for the oven and one for the pot. (Hotspots on the left and the right).

I discovered few days ago about this game that now I'm playing (v. 1.2 ita). Congratulations to the author for the big work ! Have you got a website with your works?
I have few questions about the game.
I prefer to write here, instead of open a new -and probably useless- topic.
1° question

I'm in the ElChoco Fortress first room, that with the big door, the skeletons and the stone disks puzzle. After many attempts, I was unable to solve the disks puzzle so I read the walkthrough here :"https://gamesolutions.efzeven.nl/the-tale-of-lonkey-island-walkthrough-cmdr2016/"
Here, it says to find the other disk on the walls skeletons with the Golden Fish (I'v tried without success). In my case, as I enter for the first time in the fortress, I already find both the disks on the stone pedestal. Then, I don't need to find the second and bigger one. It's also strange because in the pedestal room (where I can align the stone disks):
- when I use the Golden Fish, the player says that it's pointing somewhere (only here);
- the second and bigger stone disk is already present (as I said before), but not clickable, or, explaining it better, I'm able tu push or pull the disk but acting on the "pedestal". I don't know if it may be a traduction issue...
2° question

Except three tourists' lucky number 42 I mean.
