I'm getting warnings that my password may not be secure when logging in here.
Is there a reason that the forums don't seem to be secure (at least according to firefox)?
I get that on a number of websites. Its just a warning from Firefox that you're logging into a website that doesn't use HTTPS security. It's more of an annoyance, than a useful feature.
Would it be, you know, more secure if AGS forums did use https?
Yes, but it was just as insecure before Firefox told you so.
SMF didn't even support SSL until the latest version. Also it'll always complain about things being insecure regardless because externally hosted images aren't forced to be secured.
The thing that is important about this is to not reuse your AGS Forums password for other sites or accounts.
That's really the key to password security in general: if one password gets hacked (or stolen in a security breach), that's usually not a big deal in itself, but if it means all your accounts are vulnerable, you're screwed.
The best way to ensure you're using high-quality, unique passwords is to use a password manager like Dashlane or Lastpass: https://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2407168,00.asp
What password did you use?
All the non-deplorable and important people use "password" for their password. It's so very clever and popular these days.(roll)
Oh, I just use "wrong"... cause if I forget it, the computer will tell me that my password is wrong. (laugh)
Not my joke, I saw it elsewhere.
