Title: Learning to draw backgrounds on paper
Post by: on Sat 20/01/2018 09:24:45
Hello to everyone. I'm keen to learn drawing backgrounds (on paper sheet/watercolor pad) using watercolor/acrylic paints and later scan them in order to digitize them so I would appreciate if someone could suggest me any good videos (preferably free of charge) that teach you how to draw backgrounds in the Sierra style. Is there some kind of quick-start lessons for newbies? I'm not interested in digital drawing though. As I said before, I'm interested only in hand-made drawing. Thanks in advance. :)

Why Sierra style? Why not using your own style?

Not to be rude or anything, but shouldn't you be asking this on a watercolor art forum?
Is this the style you're going for? http://www.mobygames.com/game/quest-for-glory-shadows-of-darkness/screenshots
Have you ever drawn *anything* yet?

To create backgrounds like that, you don't need an instruction video. What you need is years of practice.

And what about this thread: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=55464.0 you never got back to?

To be honest, QfG 4 was the first things that popped into my mind when reading his post as well
