Title: Long-term suggestion: Mastodon instance
Post by: [delete} on Mon 14/05/2018 16:56:22
Decentralized, community-driven, no ads - Mastodon (https://joinmastodon.org/) is shaping up as a great alternative to the big social networks like Twitter and Facebook. Right now there are 1,3 mio users (https://davepeck.org/2018/05/03/mastodon-stats/) spread out among more than a 2500 instances. Mainly in France and foremost Japan though, but others are catching up.

Microblogging is neat. Maybe it could be an option for our adventure community too (e.g. preferably with an own instance).

EDIT:
Lately there is also RSS/Atom-feed integrated.
German-speaking users might want to listen to this interesting video talk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGbEEnDspKs), giving a fair review also on the downsides.

I am on mastodon.art  :=

I am enjoying it. I started using it ever since Twitter had been working hard at making itself useless. Stuff like a non linear timeline..
