Ladies and Gentlemen, once again, it's time for the annual Double Fanucci Tournament! Yes, Double Fanucci, that excessive
card game of the Great Underground Empire, where anything can happen! The stadium has been sold out and the audience is getting
restless, so let's get started! For the uninitiated, here are the rules:

[imgzoom]https://orig00.deviantart.net/b265/f/2018/244/4/e/blank_card_by_klatuu_vii-dclqyiq.png[/imgzoom]

Players literally draw their cards based on the template above, and play them here on the field.
Examples include, but are not limited to:

- A real or imagined playing card (Ace of Spaces, 137 of Clubs, Queen of Dolphins...)
- A real or imagined card from another game (Magic: The Gathering, Uno, Pokemon, Settlers of Catan...)
- Something else (Baseball card, Credit card, ? ? ?)

The Rules are as follows:

You MAY:
- Color the outline
- Submit multiple entries *

You MAY NOT:
- Rotate the card.**
- Use animations. ***

*From "The Rules According to Doyle", Chapter 7, Section 32, Paragraph 554: "Play 'em if you got 'em!"
**Trying to hold some cards horizontally in your hand is awkward and could cause you to spill your hand all over the table like the Great "69,105 Pick-Up" disaster in 773 GUE.
***Sorry, but animated cards were ruled illegal by the Gambler's Union and the Order of Statisticians.

BONUS ROUND!

In addition to the front of the card, players may also optionally design a BACK for our deck of cards.

VOTING:
The Game will end on September 15, then voting will begin. Our Judges (i.e. You) will vote for their first, second, and third place
choices for the cards, but only ONE vote for their favorite back design. Voting will end on September 22, and our illustrious winners
will receive one of our FABULOUS prizes!

1st Place: The ostentacious Golden Ace of Diamonds
2nd Place: The sparkling Silver Two of Hearts
3rd Place: The stoic Bronze Trebled Fromp
Back Design Award: The Festive Jolly Joker

We're in for a wild ride, friends. It's going to be an action-packed game this year.
You may have paid for your entire seat, but you'll only need the legs!

The Game. Begins. NOW!

[Edited to add the Joker Trophy and change end date to Sept. 15]

I could so see a made up tarot card in this, if I were ever to enter this one.

Great theme!!!

I will note, however, that you mention credit card as a possibility but we can't rotate the frame?

Store clerks are gonna get sore necks.

I think I'll give this a try tomorrow. It could be a starting point for something for this month's game. The theme definitely has potential.

Well I hope this motivate the others to participate.

This is the Maicus Monster Card Game(Official cards for the Double Fanucci Tournament) an exciting card game with hours of magic battles.

This are the cards that I have in my hand right now:

The purple/magenta colors are magic cards. The red/orange is special boost card. The blue colors are monster cards and the last one is the back design of the cards.

We're off to a slow start, but an incredibly strong one as imomnia212 bursts out of the gate with a stunning 5-card play, and a magnificent design! I haven't seen a Fintoozler like this since the semi-finals in 881! Cards like this will be hard to beat, but it's still anybody's game!

Tarot is definitely an inspiration option! I meant to put that in the description!

Yes, I could see that, I was trying to think up unusual inspirations for cards. Maybe they're the new fancy kind you can insert into the chip reader?

Just a little time, left folks! As is stands, imsomnia212 holds a commanding lead, being the only participant so far. There are still a few time-outs remaining, if any player requests some more time, but otherwise, the competition will end soon. I know you're all waiting till the last second to play for a daring, nail-biting grand finale, but let's get those cards on the table! Like the Double Fanucci great Babe Flathead said: "You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to muttonate 'em, know when to double-down, Community Chest, and Draw-Four-Wild!"

3...2...1...TIME!

NOW we have a competition folks! Vampire Wombat counters with a natural four-of-a-kind of aces! Then Jim Reed deploys legionnaires in a truly classic style to try to outflank the competition! And Creamy shows some very fine sportsmanship with a trio of agile athletes! Sadly, it looks like cat will sit out this game, but hopefully will return, rested and refreshed for the next season!

Now, let's review the tapes to see how the game played out:

Let the voting begin! I certainly don't envy the judges this game. Remember, you can vote for your top three cards, but only one vote for the back design.

Cards:
12. Creamy - Ross Moffat
4. imsomnia212 - Witchsper
3. imsomnia212 - New Day

Back:
A. imsomnia212

Ross Moffat has it all, the black and white background, a good action pose and the character is out of frame on both sides which gives it that "something special" thing that you just can't describe. The colors also work well together. As for the back, it was a hard pick, but I went with the dither as opposed to the anti aliased one just cause I'm a dinosaur.

Hahaha!!!

Creamy you sneaky-sneak!!!

I was so confused as to why I was being chosen for a vote in here and it took me ages to find out why!

You are true greatness!!!

QuoteI was so confused as to why I was being chosen for a vote in here and it took me ages to find out why!
Oh, you're the famous Ross Moffat! Can I have an autograph? :P

Cards:
1 â€" Sword stone by Imsomnia. It gives me Zelda vibes. I also took into account the fact he drew a whole hand.
2 - Octavius Bitus by Jim Reed â€" you've gotta love this 8-bit legionnaire.
3 â€" VampireWombat â€" the cards are nice but very classic. The little aces of spade are upside down.

Back: VampireWombat. I like the pattern. It's kinda art nouveau.

The voting time is up, and let me tell you this is a game you will tell your grandchildren about, even if you don't have grandchildren. And your grandchildren will tell their grandchildren about the time you told it to them. We have an unprecedented situation here, so let's tally up the votes:

1st Place: TIE! Between Creamy (for Ross Moffat) and imsomnia212 (for Sword Stone)
2nd Place: TIE: Between Jim Reed (for Octavius Bitus) and imsomnia213 (for Witchsper)
3rd Place: TIE: Between VampireWombat (for all) and imsomnia213 (for New Day)

Back Design: TIE: Between imsomnia212 and VampireWombat

For the first time in Double Fanucci history, there has been a tie for every place and category, and for the first time every participant has won a trophy! And let me tell you, contestants, you've earned it! Thank you for making this Double Fanucci tournament one we'll never forget! Until next year, I remain your humble announcer, Klatuu!

This year's Double Fanucci Tournament brought to you by: Mandleâ,,¢ ! The tournament organizers would like to thank Mandle for the opportunity to host this prestigious event in the official Blue Cup Stadium.

Any rebroadcast or retransmission of this event is strictly unnecessary.

(P.S. What's the ruling for who takes the next Coloring Ball if there's a tie for first? Since imsomnia212 also qualified for 2nd and 3rd, I would say the torch should pass to him, but if there are other rules, or imsomnia and Creamy want to make other arrangements, that could be changed.)

Well since I didn't have time to connect in the forums I wasn't available to vote, but my votes would have been for creamy for the first and second place so maybe he can take the next round and make the shape.

Thanks Insomnia.

2 graphic competitions are ongoing on the forum (box cover & sprite jam). Maybe I should wait before submitting a new Coloring Ball?
