The yatzhee influence is notable, but thats not bad at all. Infact between the two of you and these horror/mystery games your on your way to start a STYLE/GENRE of game.

Hey Folks.
Now, as the ferver around King's Quest III has died down, we're looking for help with our upcoming projects.
Are you an artist who's always wanted to help make an adventure game?
We're looking for artists who'd like to create backgrounds in similar style to Sierra,
QFG and KQ. We are also looking for sprite artists and general aert crew, who are willing to participate in a relaxed environment. Infamous Adventures, wants you to help us out.. putting more quality games out there.
If you're interested, please send us as email. We have great and interesting projects, with many varied setting to showcase your art. Even if you cant settle for a long run or steady contribution with us, any help will move us towards the goal of releasing quality games, the entire community would enjoy.

This whole thing has been blown out of proportion. Bspeers you may have a point from where you stand, as someone who opens this post and instead of finding "game related chat" you run into a whole little war.
There are issues here, that are not very public, and a past that should not be remembered.
I hope you dont feel that this is how we treat people at our forums, we have been nothing but accepting everyones input about the game, be it good or bad.
This isnt about getting attention, it was a simple reaction between people who know each other VERY well.. as we have all worked with each other in the past, so it has become a rather unfortunate private feud.
I can asssure you this line of bickering will not continue by any side. Lets get on with this and put what we've said in the past.

Saying any DOS based program runs fine on ALL modern computers is not a true statement.. because computers will run games at different levels of preformance. Some wont run at all, while others will crash, others will be too fast and some will run fine.

I dont remember ever saying that AGDI games were as buggy as ours, infact what i remember saying is that all games when its a first release are bound to have bugs, and for those who compared us to AGDI i said.. remember even AGDI games had bugs too. I never said our game was better or worse, or had more or less bugs than any game made by AGDI. I have tact and i've not yet said a single lie.

Good. I recognize you where among the first to play our game and congratulate us, and i was glad to see that. What i wasnt glad to see was the fact you decided to post your crits here, instead of our forums. Why? would you do that?
In all my time at Infamous Adventure never.. and i mean never, has there been a constructive thread deleted. We only have deleted a few posts in our 2 years history and banned one person. And that was because they all they did was flame others and their work, just like anyone who administers these boards would.
And if you are refering to a thread with a good amount of crits and bug reports that is no longer available on the forums, it's simply because I moved it into our private section so we could work on the list and complete our first patch for the game.
What's not honest is saying things that arent necesary, and that dont contribute in anyway to the overall product released but not a week ago.
I have always been a well tempered fellow, and I'm not going to start a who said what war, but i felt it was my obligation to step up in public and explain certain things that are made to look another way.

Yes, I personally know that Radiant's game is comming along very nicely, he has a great team, and i enjoyed helping out in it too. Though i believe Radiants story dates back to the time of Kq2.5 and those who contributed to that story, though later it was changed to ATOTK to avoid problems with the brand.
I hope, this post clears up a lot of these little squabbles.

The site is back up and running, new mirrors are in place, and we're getting a HUGE amount of downloads. I have to stop and thank everyone for giving us all their support.
As for those who can't see anything. Its a very weird comment we have been getting, it doesnt seem to be related to the game though. Open your KQ3 folder (where you installed it) and open the setup.exe. Set it to run at 320x200 and un-click "run in window". This seems to have fixed the problems for everyone who reported this.

Stay with us people. Yes, the site i having some problems.. we've had a HUGE!! and i mean HUGE! amount of people comming and downloading so we're fixing this right now, despite we have a good centenial of GBs of bandwith, but we just had soooo much responses.
As BT, said the voice pack is comming out soon, this week. We've had some trouble with the installer and yes, we are getting some bug reports. As we expected with any big release.
However!.. we will have great support, we'll release patches for the game and keep working hard so you can enjoy this game.
The Voice Pack is up to pro-level. I dare say the best voice pack ever done for a remake.

-Full narrator speech
-Digitally mastered voices
Original Sierra Voice Actors:
-Andy Hoyos (as Manannan)
-Josh Mandel (as King Graham)

That's right, the long damn wait is over. I smile with joy as I type these words in, thinking if this day was ever to come. The production is over, the testers are done and everything is ready to go. King's Quest III has finally been released. Remember this date, the 19th of June. The day KQ3 was released!
It’s been twenty years since the evil wizard Manannan first appeared on our computer screens, but now, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the team at Infamous Adventures, he’s back!
Kings Quest 3 : To Heir is Human was first released by Sierra On-Line back in 1986. As the second sequel to the hugely popular and successful Kings Quest series, it fast became a fan favourite. Roberta Williams, author of the Kings Quest series, broke new ground in computer games, introducing players to the magic map concept (making travel quicker between screens), timed puzzles and an in-depth spell casting system. All these things are standard fare in today’s games, but were original concepts in 1986.
Unfortunately, due to the advances made in computer technology over the last twenty years, such classic games no longer run on the modern computer. It was with this in mind that Infamous Adventures decided to remake this game, bringing it up to the quality of Kings Quest 5 & 6. Klytos, Executive Producer of IA’s Kings Quest 3 had this to say. “We just love this game and felt that even twenty years later the story was relevant and, more importantly, still fun. Im not the kinda guy who plays games liek this, but it seems very pro-looking, the art style is very refreshing and unique. Characters are also unique..

« on: 03 Jun 2006, 04:37 »Yes, I have seen it. And yes.. it was in the text window. And it was like that for all text messages, obviously using "Display". This was not the case with dialogue however.
He might be using a sprite like you said, and incorporating it to the text GUI.. then changing the sprite and make it the first letter of each message. But it seems like a lot of work for such a rather.. small detail.
The font had not only color, but it infact had two colors.. then normal text. If you look at the Kq5 or Kq6 windows.. you'll know what I'm talking about.
And I'm just very puzzled..
NOTE: This would be a very nice adition to the next AGS version.

Ok, i dont know if this has been asked before, but i did look it up before asking and found no topics regarding this.
Is it possible to have the first Letter in the text window, done in another font and another color?
Example:
"The kid was nice fellow.." where "T" is a larger font and red. The rest is just normal font.
I know it can be done, but i dont know how. And I hope someone knows a practical way of applying this to all the text windows (display text/ not speech)..

-I've always wanted to make my own Adventure games, since i was 15 years old.
3. How do you feel that the fact that AGS is a freeware programme affect the community that has built up around it?
-AGS has opened up a lot of space for new indy developers, and given people who want to become professional game developers or who want to work in the industry a glimpse of what game making is about.
4. How big a part does the AGS community play in your life?
-AGS has claimed much of my free time, and has led me to meet people from all over the globe, and form part of one of the best teams around. I would trade AGS for anything right now.
5. Have you been involved in making any games using AGS? You may list them if you want
-Yes. I've had my first failures (i say failure cause i never finished them) and others that im very proud of.
6. Answer these questions if you have been involved in making AGS games:
a. Were you interested in game design/programming before you started using AGS?
- Very much so, when I was 15 I was inspired by LSL to make a comode adventure game based on my own life as a teen in a school with lots of parties and girls!.. That led to later ideas, led me to found a website and tale part of greater projects later on.
b. If no, do you feel that you would have got into game design without AGS?
c. Do you make games using other programmes, either freeware or not? How does the eperience differ?
- Yes, and no.. other programs do have a downside always, while some are easier to use yet provide no real authoring safety, others provide a lot of security but are quite complex. Some provide a nice leap into other genres but serve no other purpose..
d. Has AGS inspired you to try and take up game design professionally?
-Yes, but its just a dream... perhaps one day..
7. Do you feel that there is a gender divide in the AGS community?
- Not, really.. but males are more common.
8. Are you likely to feel differently about a game if you discover it’s made by a female? In what way?
- Well, not really.. if the game is good, i dont care if its a woman or a guy who did it. However it's always fun to see what a woman is comming up with. After all, one woman (R.Williams) created the genre as we knew it, and others brought to a new level.. so seeing some women trying to reach that is very interesting.

- Not, really AGS is a non gender oriented so i say it helps both men and women dive into computer game design.

Ha hahahah!.. Fantastic.. it's about time someone did this. A few years ago i was going to release a Leisure Suit Larry type game, with comic relief, nudity sex and random violence.. but as life would have it, other projects took place and now it's only an idea in the back of my mind.
Anyways.. go ahead with this very interesting project and surprise us (not just porn-wise). It's nice to have someone rattle the cage once in a while! 8)

This looks very interesting. Making this open source after you are finished with it would be a great gift for people who want to study this type of game.
Also, if you are looking for inspiration or graphics for this retro space shooter.. i suggest you look for "Master of Orion", that game had plenty of little ships designs and would be a nice source for you.

I would like to say, King's Quest 3 Remake is safe and that we are all working hard to bring you this game as soon as possible.

Im having trouble establishing the maximum slot number for the savegames.
I've tried defining it by using:

but i get that it's already defined, i cant seem to find it in the script. How do i go about changing the number of slots?
