General Discussion / Re: How to catch a "thief"?
« on: 05 Jul 2007, 21:37 »
put a plastic expensive looking necklace on a table at the end of the cellar as bait, maybe with a few others for it to look more realistic, then put one of those nets on the ground in front of it so when he steps on it he gets captured and held in a suspended net.

General Discussion / Re: Smoking ban UK
« on: 05 Jul 2007, 21:28 »
i have relatives who smoke often, however whenever they do they go outside as there are usually many children around. My main concern against smoking is that hospitals get clogged up with them quite often and people who have other problems may be left out, and smokers asked for what they got.

Beginners' Technical Questions / How to make a chase
« on: 13 Apr 2007, 17:06 »
I am making a game where the player character is an old type of middle-eastern dog called a saluki, and I want to be able to make him chase an npc gazelle that runs away and dodges for a while, and in that time if the dog catches up the gazelle will be caught. However this is quite a big jump for me as i don't know how to script, and it would be helpful if someone could give me a link and help with the chase.

General Discussion / Re: are you from singapore?
« on: 07 Apr 2007, 12:58 »
I AM FROM SINGAPORE! NO JOKE! It is an extremely modern city island of its own with three main races, chinese, malay and indian. My ancestors moved from india ages ago. We all learn english as our first language however the majority there are chinese and are slowly starting to change it. It is very clean and then law, and schools, are very strict. It is called the lion city because ages ago a malaysian prince called sang nila utama came on his ship to singapore (legend has it that in a storm, he stopped the boat from sinking by throwing his crown overboard) and saw a tiger that had swam there from sumatra and mistook it for a lion and called it singa(lion)pura(city), soon sir stamford raffles of england founded singapore but the national anthem is in malay. Only a year ago I moved to england because the education here is beter.  :)

Whoa thanks thats a really good idea to give all the participants. ;D

EXCACTLY! Da elf says his was done in ten minutes! How could you draw so many frames flowing like that in ten minutes? Well I cant do that because in paint it just doesnt work. Do you have some special digital animating agent or something?

I animate in paint and it turns out good. It all depends on how good an artist you are.

i don't take offence, but art isn't just drawing pictures. And what I meant was that I have heard of animators where drawing every single frame is not required, you create characters then put bones in them and make them move smoothly. I dont have a 2d animator like that, so I asked.

But its better than my old entries coz it flows a bit better-but it cant beat the other entries just yet!

General Discussion / Re: Saddam Hussein
« on: 01 Jan 2007, 19:48 »
I think bush is a stupid idotic man who just wants power and doesnt care about the lives of his people but pretends to, therefore the equivalent of a terrorist.
I think saddam is also an idiot wanting power and killing, etc, therefore the equivalent of a terrorist.
I think there are lots of people like this in the world but saddam has now got what he deserves-although alliances idea was good. There would be a big problem to give bush what he deserves.

Hey could you please tell me a new animation maker that is better than unfreez plz because id like one that allows transparency and smoother movement like yours. :P
