How do I edit my damned system registry?

I'm sick of this window that pops up every time I turn on the computer, something about a shortcut refering to GStartup.ink (or something like that) in the system registry which is missing. It all happened when I installed and ran those 2 spyware things that were posted on here a while ago... ;)

Heh, I had to reinstall KaZaA too...

That doesn't bother me, but this stupid window does though. How do I get rid of it?

Thanks in advance,

Go to Run and type "regedit" to edit your registry.  Then search for that file  ...

Be careful (I'm sure you already know that) editing your registry is dangerous!!

Good luck!

try to get Norton Systemworks, it has some tools for cleaning your registry and will make backups incase it goes wrong...

here is something else you can try. Which i usually use when windows is looking for a certain program when booting up. I'm not sure this will help you, but it might.

open the start menu, goto run, and then type in msconfig, then goto the tab that says startup, and see if you can find that program somewhere in the startup and uncheck it.

if its in there and you uncheck it, windows will no longer try to load that file.

its come in handy for me, so i hope it helps.

snake, i'm assuming it worked for you. If it did, i was glad to help.

it gets annoying when everytime you load windows it's looking for something that is no longer there.

Snake

Yeah, it did work :)

Cool little trick...

Thanks again to all of you,
