Read error
« on: 10 Mar 2004, 23:22 »
When I try to load room 6 so I can edit it, it gives me an error message:
---------------------------
AGS Editor
---------------------------
Read error decompressing image - file is corrupt
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
When you click 'ok', it kicks you out of AGS.  If you just test the game then it brings up this error when (and only) in room 6:
---------------------------
Adventure Game Studio
---------------------------
An internal error has occured. Please note down the following information.
If the problem persists, contact Chris Jones.
(ACI version 2.60.693)

Error: Out of memory: failed to allocate -56112 bytes (at PP=200)

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
It was working just fine a little while ago, but then I re-booted my pc and its started this...Does anybody know whats going on? (I'm not much of a computer wiz...Sorry)

Quite possibly your room file is currupted, try to find a backup for it or rework on it.

When you restarted your computer, was it a normal Windows restart, or did you physically press the reset button? Often writes to disk are delayed and so it may not have finished saving the file before restarting.

Well, it looks like the room 6 room file didn't save properly, at any rate. It's possible you ran out of disk space, further than that I'm not sure what to suggest other than to restore a backup.
