Ok, I need a decision... My Girlfriend and I are having an argument...I say that Xbox is better, she says that PS2 is better.....What do you guys think???

ps. I'm not saying Xbox is better because I have one, I've played both systems....

You're both wrong. Computers are better, since consoles are just crappy versions of computers crammed into smaller spaces (except for the X-box, which is way too friggin huge).

Well, both can be modded into pcs, I've seen that done on both.

To be fair, I like them both. The Playstation has the RPG's that I love, while the Xbox has the multiplayer online games that I love.

EDIT:
But the computer has both, faster, with better graphics capability.

Well, I'm not much of an Atari fan, but I used to want one when I was a kid, and my parents wouldn't get one, A console with just games seemed stupid to them. But they made up for it with these.

These were what Nintendo became famous for in the 80's before they created a console and also the path maker for the Gameboy.

These are the originals of some famous titles:
Donkey Kong

Mario Bros

Then there were others

I still own this one 'Turtle Bridge'

And my sister had this one 'Fire'

Oh yeah, I've never played Xbox, so I can't compare, I don't own a PS2, I only have a Sega Megadrive

Man, I had a mini game thing that I bought on a ferry once... the size of a calculater it was... there was a left and right button, and you had to guide the little tiny stickman over three obstacles to reach the other end of the level... which was one screen in total...

That was pretty awesome.

MSX sooo rules! I still have it standing in all it's glamour at home. I have 5 casettes with multiple games on them, and 3 of those big games.

Loading these games are taking sometimes 10minutes, but it sure rocks! Especially Antartica, with that penguin, where you jump over the holes to catch fishish.

I can remember my brother having more MSX games at his school computers! I was so jelish!

PS : I think it does not matter today what console you take, because most commercial company's seem to make shitty games only. Like "OOO look! I put a boob here, and more than 16 colors there... and some glamour there... and then I call it Master of the Rainbow Chick Devestation! Then everyone will be going to buy it"

it just makes no sense...

To actually answer your question, the xbox has the abilites to be 3x better than the ps2 in almost every point, but not always is it used. The fight is useless now, years after their release, since the next evolution of the consoles will be unveiled around E3 and released maybe starting this 3-4th quarter 2004 (gameboy, at least)

i agree pretty darn pointless thread, but if your guna get me started i'd say xbox all the way, it has reliable online play with full customer support, it has the power to be three times better than PS2, it has a range of original games, rather than PS2's range of resident evil5 and finalfantasy4567.

I was a proud owner of a ps1 for about 3 years , had a PS2 for about 2 years then sold it for a xbox because i wanted a change. I will never regret that choice.

Yeah, Xobx!! My cousin and I won a ps2 with I think around 7 games and 2 controllers...Played the xbox at a store...Turned around that day and sold the ps2, used the money for my xbox...I also don't regret that decision, but the NES still rocks!!!!! yeah!!!!Lol Computer is better than consoles I will admit

As much as I like my PS2, the moment Fable comes out for the Xbox it's bye bye PS2, only if i can't scrape up enough cash.

Look, it depends on what you like.

If you like Multiplayer games, then xbox is the way to go. I have an xbox and it's pretty much worthless without having xbox live.

If you like single player games and console RPGs then PS2 is your friend.

If you like pretty graphics, xbox it is.

If you like the mouse, then none. Just get a computer.

If you like old school superdeformed characters and umm.. nintendo, then gamecube.

You are what you have, unless you're like me and Microsoft gives you an XBOX for showing up to some seminar they're having.. heh.
