An introduction of sorts
« on: 21 Apr 2004, 04:42 »
Hello all,
I'm new here, but I have been messing about with AGS and SCI for a while.  I've made a 6 screen demo with AGS, and a 3 or 4 screen demo with SCI, its been a while.  I am the same Fronzel as Fronzel Neekburm if anyone is from the SubSpace Channel.
Just thought I would post this because I've been posting often in the C&C lounge, trying to decide on a style before I start off on a game I can finish.

Over and Out.

Do you have a question? I don't understand your point.

Is there anywhere I could dl your demo?

Yeah, I just wanted to kind of say hi, b/c it felt wierd to be posting without anyone knowing anything about me.
Anyhoo, my Ags demo... its not the greatest, there is no intro so there is really no plot exposition, so its just a few screens with a lot of messages, but not too much to do.  If you really wanted it I could probably put it up somewhere (actually my site is horrible for download times, hmmm).  I don't know, I've learned a lot since then.  Starting out with SCI threw me off, because the code segments were all labeled "repeatedly execute, room, global", and that threw me off when making my AGS test game.  I don't think the demo even uses repeatedly execute, which is pretty embarassing.  Again, thats fixed now from browsing the forums for a while.

But yeah, just kinda wanted to say hi, and technically this is where Andail's sticky said to put that  ;), so yeah.

Welcome aboard!
I'm not a hundred percent sure where ecactly mods wants these posts to end up nowadays. He might move it to gen-gen.

You seem to have a good ground to stand on, having experimenting with both AGS and SCI.

And Shbaz....please be more hospitable to new members in the future, will ya´?

PS:
Ok, gen-gen is the place, my introduction post is updated! Sorry for the trouble :)

Didn't mean to be rude.. I was just a little blunt I suppose.

EDIT:
I really should apologize too, I'm sorry. I read your post and I didn't really know if you were wanting to tell about your demo or ask for help. Other AGS'ers aren't so cumbersome about welcoming people.  :)

Welcome aboard!

(If you really want to experience 3D, I can knock up a pair of 3d-glasses in about 5 minutes. Forget Shabz - he can't do NOTHING to beat my all-out "paper and coloured cellophane" glasses!)

Awesome, Nice to meet you all, hopefully I'll have something to show in a few months, gamewise.  School's almost out, and I'm am working on a probably small to midsized game, to get a good feel for AGS.

Yeah, that Shabz guy is a third-rate artist, it's me and Peter you should go for. By the way, Peter is second-rate.
