Hope you all enjoy this short game from the System Cell...

(links to AGS game page)

I`ve been eating and sleeping this game for about 15 days...

And so has jaz...

Back to MIA....we go..

Floco-Zeppelin

Downloaded and finished it. I like a lot the moody soundtrack that fits perfectly with the graphics style, which is really steady through the game sticking to one sort of aesthetic instead of shooting to every side, which i find really, really nice. The game, though, could be a little bit more challenging, not longer, but with more complex puzzles to solve.

foz

Floco-zeppelin...

We made this for MAGS in around fifthteen days....from scratch.

We kept things fairly simple due to the time limit....

Future projects will be of better quality and more challenging....as we would`nt be held into a short devolopment time.

Glad you enjoyed it even though it was a bit easy.

Yay! Miles Davis! What a cool game this is...Atmospheric graphics, good puzzles...solid, couldn't find a bug...and the music..GOOD choice guys...
Pantomime players are the root of all evil.

Damien

I really enjoyed playing Coup de Cup, great work guys!

It has a lot of puzzles for a MAGS game, great music, and interesting graphic style.

A small bug, no biggie:
Spoiler
When you electrecute the guard, and move the cursor to the place where he slept, there's still the guard text there

Good luck on your next game, MIA.

Mr Jake

hmmm, theres one puzzle I cant seem to work out, other than that its a GREAT game... at first I thought I wouldnt like it, mainly due to the ambiment sound, but it was a great MAGS game to play :)

Chicky

Stuck after ive put the p*** down next to the s******* c*****

luutje

Inventor

Hi there!

Please, what's the way to look at the inventory? I tried all F ones, just to restart the game with the F9..., the tab, and some more keys...

By the way, it's a very quality game! Love the jokes and the really homorous replies!  :D

Mr Jake

took me a few minute to spot it, there is a grey square in the top left corner of the screen, click that

Spoiler
You have to cut rope on posts, then get post, make photo using polaroid, combine it with mop and gum, place post and then combine it with previously prepared mop :)

You need to booby trap the armour so that it disables the guard when he tries to fix it.

Hmm... I think I've found a bug, but I'm trying to recreate how I did it, and haven't seemed to be able to do it yet....

Spoiler
Once the window was open, I'd got the mop, combined it with the gum, connected the cabel to the armour and got the post. Then I went outside, came back in, went outside and came back in again, and suddenly I couldn't select items from the inventory, and I couldn't click on any objects. Well, i COULD click on them, but nothing would happen, like when you click on a useless object that doesn't have any actions to it...

But I love this game! I'll get round to playing the other entry in a minute...

Ahoy Jaz and Foz!

This is some quality work.  Excellent atmosphere and some clever-if-simple puzzles.  I'd definitely like to see a full-length game with this character.  The music adds a lot to the experience - I love Miles Davis.  :-D

The only quibble is that some of the hotspots are impossible to find.  The display case lock took me a while to find.  But otherwise, great!  Short but sweet.

Agreed, it took me awhile to find the pole.

jaz

Hi everybody, thanks for your (so far) positive replies.

I hate pixelhunting and we tried to avoid it as much as possible. I agree that the lock is a bit small though... But I think we were overally successful.
We are glad that you like the atmosphere of the game, seems like we created the mood we aimed for.

Dave -  full game? Hmmm.... there miiiight be a sequel to this shortie as the ending is a bit open but we have MIA to work on now. We, however, would like to make a quality adventure one time and Coup de Cup proved that we can work together well. We have some plans and time will tell.

This was very well done, the art style was spectacular, and I have played through it more than once. My only complaints were two minor things:

1) The guard takes up a very large hotspot/context area after he is shocked.

2) The plant and vase in the cup room should be in the foreground yet the player can move so he is on top of them (as if they were shadows).

I love the interface you have worked out, it all flows very well.

...and all for one franc!

Lazy Z

Wow, excellent game, guys! Love the graphics, the use of Miles Davis' music, and the overall atmosphere. The puzzles are smart, too. The GUIs are great too, I'd love it if you had made your game open-source, but I respect your decision not to.

One small comment though, it'd be better if you made the introduction skip-able, since it's kinda lengthy. Otherwise, it's definitely one of the best MAGS games I've played!

Lazy Z...

The intro is skipable....sort of....

If you hold any key it will speed thru text and go to first screen...

foz

Lazy Z

Yeah that's true, I figured that out on my own a while ago while playing another game :P. I was referring to something using the StartCutscence command, but it's no biggie.

I used the StartCutscence command for the titles part  but deceided not to use for the conversation part as it tells the story and might have been missed without realizing....

If i had time i would have made it skip that too if a savegame file was present.....i`ll do that in the revised version

Primus

Yeah, when you two join, your games are even better (I even thought that was difficult...).
A very good game!

That's a great game, the protagonist certainly has a lot of character!
