Sequel to the Crimson Room
« on: 29 May 2004, 21:12 »
Some of you remember the Crimson room - a short flash game from a while back.

Well, here is it's sequel:

The Viridian room

I haven't finished it yet, but I've gotten pretty far (I think). I'll try my best to help out if you're stuck, but I'm hoping someone smarter than me can finish it....

It is frustrating, It's annoying with the pixel hunting, I guess they have sound effects to give some clues but it still doesn't always help. has anyone finished yet?

I have the cd case, 6 chinese characters, a bundle of incense sticks, a medicine bottle, a can of beer, black hair, a photo of male & photo of female, and a photo frame.

I can put the incense, beer, frame & cd case on the table, and when you hit the bell thingy sometimes you get a different message, depending on what's on the table.

I guess there must be some key to open that locked book, I guess that's what I need to proceed, there's also a sound effect when you look at the bin screen next to the fridge, but I don't know what the clue means.

there's probably more screens but I guess that's the frustrating part, finding where to click to get there, silly friggin game, but addictive enough to make me want to beat the friggin thing.

anyone got any clues?

I havn't solved the first one yet, and I've been trying for a long time(Played it before).

I've got the box(With ring in), a CD case, a note with a URL and a key(that was in the CD player).

Ok, I finished it, mostly by myself, but I did have to resort to a walkthrough at a point. I could not find that key...

Yeah, same here. The creator could've made the key a bit more obvious. To me, it just looked like another bone that was attached to the skeleton.

Bah, at least I'm done. I wonder when the next room is coming out...

Woo-hoo! 45 minutes (and no walk-throughs later) I'm done.

I found the key by accident, really. I was just pixel clicking, and didn't even know I had it until I looked in my inventory for something else. I saw it and thought "where did I get that". When I played it again I realised what you're talking about - it is a bit inconspicuous.

That face in the clouds at the end was scary. So.... happy.... and smily.... and.... cheerful

Heh the game was in Japanese, not Chinese. Though yeah those characters are Kanjis (which are Chinese), and it's just the name of a quite popular buddhist sutra, you don't need to know of the characters to play this game though.

As for the dareka game, actually I first posted the link to the game long time ago in IRC.
Here's the walkthrough I made sometimes earlier, now translated to English (the solution is not unique, as long as you can do some of the stuffs in correct order, don't read if you don't want to!):

Well the ending was a big let down, but I still don't know how I got the lighter because the way I got it I, had tried many times previously and it didn't work, but once it did, it worked all the time (I'd say it's a bug in the programming or I couldn't work out what I did diferently to get it)

Czar, if you hadn't found it already

the top shelf above the locked book, you can look at the shelf then look at each side from there

They're addictive enough to finish, but they also suck

yes, you need the carpet.
take a look at the diary. Figure out when the girl's birthday is. The combination on the lock is related to the date. It's either one day before her birthday, or three days before, or the exact day of her birthday. Can't remember exactly which one
