I think I have had enough comments to call the game good.
No one found any bugs.Ã,  Just style suggestions.Ã,  I've changed what I could.

But here it is, my training project is released:

I also want to pose a question.Ã,  The Completed Game Anouncement rules suggested to post the game in the Games Main page.Ã,  I remember reading NOT to post your first training game, but I can't find it.Ã,  Is it OK now?Ã,

Either way.Ã,  If people find this game amusing enough to post it on there, let me know and I will.Ã,  Otherwise I won't until I'm told/suggested to by AGS higher ups.

The game is pretty funny and the graphics aren't THAT bad, but there's plenty of room for improvement. The coding is pretty basic and all. But I await your next game.

I enjoyed the idea, it was creative and funny, in its way. The graphics are fitting - they kinda look like AGI style, so it fits in.

But, I HAVE to say this - "creative liberties" aside, of those four series, the only one Roberta Williams designed was King's Quest. ;)

Yeah, also LSL had quite a large history before LSL 1 was even made (softporn) so that doesn't make much sense that she'd see a bar and a short guy in a white suit and get the idea for LSL when it was really inspired by Softporn.

Well, I believed the whole god damn thing. I was most disappointed to read this thread and find out those things WEREN'T true - I was already trying to make reservations at that castle restaurant!

*ahem* Good game, I thought. It gave me many a chuckle and that's what matters :) I hope you learnt a lot of basics when making this game and make an even better one next time.

Krazy: It didn't make sense that she'd go into a bar and find... NONE of it made sense! :P No offense etcher, just trying to stick up for random wackiness.

Krazy

Well ok yeah, ok wackiness is funny (Sam & Max is one of my favourite games) just being the annoying guy who says "In episode 237 the captin says he's never opended a door but CLEARLY in episode 245 we CLEARLY see a glimse of him turning a door knob for about 5 frames"   ;)

Krazy - Since 237 comes before 245, that's not exactly a problem. ;D

But episode 237 is a glimse into the future episode that takes place after 245 so it is a problem!

Yeah and I highly doubt George Lucas got his idea for Jabba the Hut from a fat guy in a park who happened to laugh the same way.

I just recently discovered that "George Lucas in love" isn't available for download for free (at least I couldn't find one).  But there have been plenty of synopsises (sp?) online at least to help people understand my title.

But anyway, who knows, maybe someday I'll make Sierra Quest 2: The Search for Programmers (j/k)

Ah, after reading the synopsis of the film it all makes sense. In that case, forget what I said. And maybe you could present us with some more "in love" games... ;)

Doom saber

As for lsl, Al Lowe made that game anot R. Williams.  You know, you can add other games she made like Laura Bow.

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

Doom Saber :

... nah, I was gonna quote but it'd be pretty big. Just read my previous posts and etchersquaredgames' reply. It was basically meant to be a parody of a film.

mätzyboy

Hell, that woman walks like a godess! :D I found this to be an excellent first game. Next time maybe we will have som more puzzles to think about and more inventory to use. Thumbs up!

Etcher Squared Games

redrum and matzyboy, thank you much for the back up...

if anyone is interested in statistics here goes:

programming time: 12 hours
drawing time:  5 hours
concept design: 5 minutes  :P

I also noticed my game has had enough votes to show a percentage and I'm at 40%.  I'm rather proud I got THAT high.

2nd game is in scripting stages, but I won't be able to post an annoucement till probably close to end of year.  My brother and I want everything on paper and finalize before we start anything, so it may be a while.  I sure hope I don't disapoint on it.

One question:

Why did you call it "Sierra Quest: Roberta In Love"? I loved the game, but TRoberta showed no love just dedication...hehehe.  Anyways, the graphics were as humorous as the story... I wouldn't change it, just be more creative with the title/subtitle.

I want to see the next one... give us the next one!
"Hail to the king, baby!"

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

rharpe, read the entire thread. It's either a parody of a parody or an hommage to a parody (if it's neither, it's plagiarism, so let's just focus on these two, shall we? ;) )
