Cola Man VS Evil Vegimite
« on: 16 Mar 2005, 17:08 »

Hail all gamers! Do you like games with deep plots, heroic hero's, evil villins and beutiful maidings?! ME NEITHER!
I, lo_res_man,  have embarked on a  noble queast (tra-la!) to to make a game i can finish!
seariosly, this game is about a fat super hero, unlike one other famuse superhero, when the call cgoes out for a hero, he dosn't respond, despite the narraitors pleading. he DOES respond when he finds out that all his munchies are going to turn into vegitables. GADZOOKZ!
I will tell more later but hopefully this will be acceptibul to the moderator.

Sounds good!
A bit like the Adventures of Fatman.
I like the screenshots!

You should probably flip the lines dividing the walls and ceiling so that the perspective is less messed up - the three lines at the corners should form a Y shape, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see the roof. Also, in the first shot, there's a lot of roof. But this isn't critic's lounge.

I too like those screenies! Very nice style. This sounds like a fun little game. :)

true this isn't, but thanx anyway, all remarks and critics ARE well received.will edit and see how it looks.
btw, in the first screen, thats not roof, thats CEILING, flat and all that. i DONT want to use graduents, and I DONT want to make wire frame lines on the ceiling, any cunning ideas on what to do?

Maybe you missed the point Steve was making. When the lines from the corner where the ceiling meets the wall are pointing down, you're actually looking at it from above the ceiling. Unless the ceiling is transparent, you wouldn't be able to see into the room, and you certainly wouldn't be able to see the side of the ceiling facing the room.

In my view you have a couple of options. You can make the room taller so that the camera isn't positioned above the ceilling any longer. You can move the point of view down a bit so that you're below the ceiling. Or you can make the ceiling "cutaway", transparent to the camera. In that case, you'd have to rethink the ceiling lamps and the suspension of the TV.

I like the backgrounds, by the way!

Really cute, I love the graphic style and the colours are fantastic (I love colourful games!).

One thing though, and I'm rather surprised noone else has mentioned it ^_- VegEmite.

Yes, I agree to that.

Though, my only complaint is that the Vegimite is evil...

Your right about the VegEmite.;D   I know about the stuff, i just thought it would make a radical cool name for a silly villion. i spelt it differant so that know aussie company would get cheesed off by the fact i used a copyrighted name for a bad guy. i mean tthe way I spell it it, its like vegi -as in vegitable, and might -as in power. heck it could make a great name for a hero too. I ve never tried the stuff, but from what i hear its very umm... UNIQUE! any way you want to hear the story right?

ahem,

Once upon a time theire lived a fat slob, unlike other fat slobs he had an endorsment deal. with this and blow to his head that gave him unheard of powers (not to mention unknown) one day a speacial announcement came over the tv.  Vegimight came on and said with his vegi gas was going to turn all the earths candy bars cola drinks and all other unhealthy neccessities of life. With that cola man leaped into action, not to save earth from the ray, much to the narraitors horrer)but to get a stash of junk food hidden in his Cola-safe, but first he has to finesh painting the basement and feed the baby. otherwise his wife wont let he go ANYWERE.

there, thats as much of the story as i can reveal at this time. i know more but if i tell more  there will be NO suprises in the game. hope to upload sprites SOON.

Maybe you should use VegeMight instead. Or Marmite.

Considering this is a guy who writes "acceptibul", it seemed pointless to bring it up.

How about just calling it 'concentrated yeast extract'?

that said, I really don't think that Kraft (not an aussie company) would really care.
