I'm not being "hard" on him. I'm just telling the truth as it was presented to us. He was the one bragging like some conceited wind-bag, so he can expect that people will rightfully so comment on such. When someone might say "I'm making the best game in the world" and "my sprites are better than sprites in all other AGS games", and then you release a "game" that's not even a game with no way to quit it except a forced exit, well, of course it seems to me that's just asking for trouble.

And why do you think it's "funny" to upload crap and see how it dissapoints or frustrates people?Ã,Â Yes timlump, I remember your old thread of when you did something similar, and it wasn't "funny" in anyway to most anyone else here, mostly it was just immature and pathetic.Ã,Â Ã,Â
That being said, I hope you've grown away from those tendacies (to upload "crap" for "fun" or start pointless and immature threads) and will continue to work on your "Survival" game which shows some promise. You have some good ideas and such, so I hope to see that translates over into your project.

So just because it doesn't fit within your conformist ideas of what a "game" is meant to be that means it must be crap? Perhaps the video game artist was seeking a new way to express him or herself?
Initially this would appear to be a parody of virtual pet software. While a regular, commercial virtual pet "game" would try to delude the player into feeling like they were interacting with a real live creature, here the artist strips away all the tricks and leaves just the stark, pre-programmed reality. Where it might take hours, even days, before most virtual pet software begins to feel artificial here the redundancy is obvious straight away.
Do you feel disappointed? Frustrated? Perhaps that is exactly how you should feel when confronted with a work such as this and the issues it raises.

Yo, Modgeulator dude, didn't you read the other posts at all? I wasn't the one who said it was crap, I was just echoing what the "game creator" said, which was: "this peice of crap, i know its crap, i wanted it to be crap".

And then I addressed the follow up message of timlump who said he did a similar thing before, and if you had seen timlump's thread which he was talking about then you would know that it was totally immature and pointless. Anyways as he said: "I made it on purpose because face itÃ,Â peoples reactions are funny."

What strange people you are. Does this game really merit this sort of response? Does anything merit this sort of response? How much did people hate "No, I am Spartacus!" for it's (apparent) non-exitableness, and seeming endlessness? I played the "game" by timlump too. I didn't have any particular feelings for or against it. I finished, I was mildly surprised by the ending, and then I moved on. Timlump didn't rip a part of my soul out with the game. Why should it have been a problem? It's a free engine, it's a free "game", it's 2 minutes of the player's time. How is posting something like this immature?

1) Haven't other more "Reputable" members of the AGS Community made games worse then this, on purpose, for the same reason has this timlump guy, and I suppose Mistral did? Hey! Maybe this guy is ROLF! in a new incarnation.

2) I'm wonderin though, was this indeed a parody of Virutal pet Software like stated above?

3) Mistral, assuming your spelling and such improve for the game you were talking about before, though boasting like a fool, I wouldn't mind playing it. Also this made me smile also, but throw in ways to kill the Rabbit, I'm sure everyone here would enjoy that.

i've stayed out of this, mostly for the puns and jokes reminding me how completely afwul and troll like i was when i began.
Yet, here i am.
First things first.
Mistral, after downloading Ed, i thought, like modgeulator said, it was an attempt at satirizing the crappy and unimmersive gameplay of "Virtual Pets".
Now, call me crazy, yell at me, and throw burning boots at me, but i think this game, in all it's pointlessness, is cute. I can't help it.
I agree with Nikolas.
When you play this game for a little while,
you can't help but have a smile come to your face.
It, actually, reminds me of those little "buddies" you can download that say annoying stuff at you while looking at porn.
This would appear so appealing to a young child.
Not that i'm knocking you, i'm just saying perhaps you should
consider marketing this at a younger audience.
Hell, with a few buffs, this could be an 8 and younger phenomenon!
I propose adding a few mini-games, maybe some speech and a few general cleanups and this could really be something.
Anyway, sorry to rant on like this, but I really feel that mistral should be treated fairly and not criticized because this isn't "game" enough for you.

But remember not to be to hard on Mistral.
My JOKE game solitude actually started out as a test to see if I could make a palyable game in under an hour, at the end of it I had something that was to be honest crap but I didnt want to put it to waste so I just put it up and went "lets see what they think"
You don't put it up to annoy people , you put it up to see what people think.
E.g don't you wonder why some people think a piece of canvas painted white is art.

Well thats the frame of mind your in.

Ohh and by the way my days of immature threads are long gone and now im making games with a certain level of seriousness.
