Super Jazz Man!
« on: 29 Dec 2006, 23:28 »
I swore I wouldnt ask for help on this game.  Hah, that lasted long.

I have the: sax, phone, vaccum, ransom note, sports drink, flaming jesus drink, hubcap and money.  I need to talk to someone who knows how to get to the volcano, correct?  Help me out!

I just figured it out.  For future reference:

You need to look at your fridge.  Then look *under* your fridge.  Pixel Hunting!

Okay, I'm stuck again.

I'm at the fight part. It's like an exercise in futility, I've been sitting here for 15 minutes clicking randomly.  Any tips on how to get below the first two health bars?

Do you see a pattern emerging in the hits which he blocks?

Woot, after a while I finally got it.  Amazing scripting, Geoff.  I still feel I should get a reward for finally figuring out the pattern, that was really fun.

It's not freeware, so I'm thinking is it worth buying it. Do you reccomend it?

I'm really enjoying the game, but now it keeps on crashing at one point.

After I get pulled into a car, I escape. Then at home I call Cadence. After the conversation, the game crashes.

I have the vacuum cleaner with something in it (no idea how to get it out yet). sax, phone, hubcap and note.

Oh, if I use Esc to skip the calling part of the cut scene, the game doesn't crash.

Edit:

I got past the crashing by skipping a certain cutscene. Now I'm stuck the 'regular' way. :)

How do I get into the library?

I looked under the refrigerator, and used the vacuumcleaner to get the stuff under it. Now I can't get the stuff out of it.

I also have no idea what to do with the cyclist.

Hmmm, that's interesting about the crashing thing, because I never ran into that on all the computers I tested the game on. I'll look into it though. Does it give you a message when it crashes?

Now for the library:

Quote
Give the vacuum cleaner back to Donovan after using it under the refrigerator. Leave the room, and then come back. That should get you started.

As far as a 'pattern' goes....

is it a musical pattern or am I totally barking up the wrong tree?

Not a musical pattern. That would be a mean puzzle. :)

Basically you realize that he blocks certain hits always. So if you wait and punch immediately after he's done with his getting hit animation, you can build the combo further.

I thought it would be pretty mean... but, if you follow the drum pattern in one particular part of the song you can get a reasonable combo going. Unfortunately, it's not quite enough but it's enough that it was driving me crazy!

Were you able to figure it out?

Hit him twice, wait until he recovers, hit him a couple more times, etc.

Yeah, I got it, thanks. Once I stopped concentrating on the musical red herring, it wasn't too difficult to figure out :)

I'm stuck as well :/

I'm stuck with the mine field (presumably). I figured I'd use the weight plates, but Cadence won't let me - she won't even let me replace the weight plate with the hubcap.

Is there a way you can arrange the weight plates with the hubcap such that she doesn't notice?

get past the pit bull dog and  get the weight. I guess I need to find something for the dog to chew on but have been going round in circles for a long time now

The vendor at the park is sad he missed your concert... maybe you could give him a copy of the CD from the concert (which is in your stereo set at home)...

Let me know if that helps.
