Hello everyone,

This year in Canada we tossed around a few ideas for the location of next year's Mittens. Nothing concrete was decided, but there were a few suggestions for France.

I'm all for France and think it would be fun, but I am also presenting a second option just in case nothing happens with it. If we do go with France, then consider this my bid for 2009.

I would like to host Mittens here in my hometown of Miami, Florida. I've been looking and found that there are indeed camping areas within the city, and not way the hell out in the middle of the swamp as I previously thought. One I was browsing offers cabins that sleep 14-16 for $169 a night, and has a pretty decent location. If we did like this year and rented a van, it would be easy to get around and go anyplace within the city. I'm sure there are also other places with comparable rates, so that's good to know.

So, my reason for starting this thread is to ask two questions: the first is, if we do France, who will organize? The second is, if we don't do France, who would be interested in Mittens Miami? (Same question applies if we do France).

France is OK, Florida is awesome. I'm interested in both.

France is close which is good for me and I've loved the time I've spent in Miami and the rest of Florida. I also want to go to another Mittens!

Hehe, you silly Team Foxhumpers, there was a consensus on the way back to Toronto on the final day that it would be France.

The first notion was to ponder over the Netherlands since Jet and Radiant were in attendance, but further discussion led to France.

While I would prefer the French countryside, Miami sounds sexy. I've never been anywhere near the South.

I think it'd be nice to hold it in france in 2008, giving more europeans a chance to muck in. There seems to be huge popularity this side of the pond yet when we hold American mittens for some reason the Americans shy away or something

SO I'd vote 2008 for France (so I actually have a chance of going this time) and 2009 Miami. (Miami would be awesome btw) I'd still also like to hold the 10th anniversary in the carribean.

If we hold it in Miami I will DEFINITELY be at it!!

However I would be very interested in France as well!

I intended on going this year ... but work got in the way.

I would be happy with either Miami or France.

I just realized my post here is pointless and doesn't help

I vote for Miami until there is a legitimate plan for France. Really the only reason is that Miami is easier to get to for me and has sexy beaches (and possibly sexy Disneylands)
Also it would have sexy Grundislavs who could sexily show us around, sexily.

But I would also be totally excited to go to France, I hear they also have sexy beaches.
And if Pete doesn't come to France I vote for a mid-year Petetins.

France has a sexy Disneyland too. And it'll have like 99% fewer fat people.

I just did a quick search, and there are tons of properties all over France with pretty awesome facilities. There are lots of big places with pools/saunas/hot-tubs and other such luxuries, available for 15-20 people, that range from really cheap (about £40 per head for a week) to more-expensive-but-still-decently-priced (£125pw).

I think that we could find a great place pretty much anywhere in France, depending on what kind of location and scenery people wanted.
