I just recently decided, to teach myself doing "adventure"-art
this is what came out after a few hours:
the little character is supposed to be living in the shoe. it's still not quite finished yet. i plan to paint some chimneys and tv antennas, which are coming out of the "house"
i'm still not quite sure about the troll... i mean, he IS supposed to be cartooney, but is he working with the background? does he need more shading? C&c most welcome, since am still a greenhorn
thank you very much!
worked a little more on the shoe. i think, maybe it could work after all with the rather cartoonish character. i still don't like the overall "smudgy" look of it.
still working on the chimney. i put the new colored character in and made a simple gradient in the back.
UPDATE 5 May 2008:
Well, my girlfriend who is currently studying wood carving, decided to help me with my silly project
. she sculpted her own very special idea of a troll. as usual, it came out very nice! but since it is supposed to be a kids game, ithink i'll stick with my more cartoony approach. still, i would like to try, if i could model the thing in 3d.
so if you have any comments, suggestions or just nice things to say, i'll be happy to let her know! (her english is unfortunately worse than mine
ps: sorry for the bad image quality...
pps: my girlfriand likes to add, that the hands aren't finished yet... well obviously....
