Topic: The Best "Finale" Music in Adventure Games

After beating Quest for Glory IV again just a few minutes ago, I have to say, the ending finale music for QfG4 is perhaps one of the best fanfares ever. I'm in too much of a post-game-completion daze to remember any others, but I have to say I loved the ending music.

What other games do you guys just LOVE the ending music for? I've always thought ending music is a very, very important part of that feeling you get after beating an adventure game. You watch the ending credits/scene roll and have this sense of utter satisfaction and contentment. What say you, AGS Community?

The sole ending musics I can remember right now are the ending music of Monkey Island 1, which became Elaine's theme music in MI2, and the begining of the ending music of Indy and the Fate of Atlantis, the calm music on the sunset, and then Indy's theme kick in and the credits roll on, just like in a movie, the rest of the music is so-so but this part is awesome. I'll see if I can remember more tomorrow.

Oh, of course, Portal!

Edit: I searched but the only other memorable ending music I could think of was the ending music of the Machine level of Knytt Stories. It's not an adventure game, but it's in my opinion what every video game endings should aspire to be.

Interesting topic. Definitely the 8 minute ending track to Fate of Atlantis for me... That was utterly satisfying when I was young I agree it's really important to have a powerful ending track, and lots of games achieve it. For instance, I love the ending to LBAII and noticeably because of the music! It's been a while since I've seen it but the comic nature of the music in DOTT led to a great finale piece.

I just have a thing for most of the Sierra finale musical scores. A lot of them are just great, especially the ones that are mostly montages of themes from earlier on in the game (like Space Quest 4).

EDIT: After having a proper listen to the SQ4 finale theme, I was mistaken. I forgot which Sierra finale theme it was that had a montage of previously used scores, but it wasn't SQ4. Could swear it was...
