The story: a woman has been mysteriously killed; Lester Britton, a private investigator working for an

agency in bankruptcy is working at the case. Will he be able to chatch the killer and save the agency? What

will he discover during his journey?

The game is divided in more parts. This is the first part, a medium lenght game.

Looking very good. Downloading now... playing later on....

[Update] Nice one. Good music to set the mood. Good dialogs (for some reason I'm missing the voices...(hint..  :)) ) Interesting story. I love the big transition area's. No need to search for exits here. Good job.

-Found a typo: while talking to Luise: Waht --> What
-Debug mode is still on.
-Trying to use the lamp in the living room: it's daytime, using the one in the corridor: it's still dark..?!?!
The photo on the desk doesn't have a status/mousover text

And to be a very pain in the .... behind, I miss the customised gui. The default doesn't match the game's look & feel.

Ah, that type-o would be my bad.  Franco can correct it fairly easily in the translation file for the next version.

As English Editor (Franco actually did the translation himself), I had a chance to preview this project and I must say it's pretty impressive for a first effort.  The swing music creates a great atmosphere, and the colourful graphics are attention grabbing if not spectacular.   I really liked the mood set by the back story, and most of all I liked the facial expressions of the characters -during dialogues they would smile or frown depending on the topic, a nice touch.

The dialogues would be pretty sweet with voices added, but let me assure you there is a LARGE volume of dialogue to record for such a short game....

Finally finished!
Man, have I been searching for that glue! Lame to hide it in a conversation ypu  already had once! The melted plastic and the poster in the alley were a good decoy to the matter.

One last thing: when standing in front of the open closet in your bedroom, you can walk through the door.

I can't wait to solve the crime! Any indications of a release date?

Oohh.... that would make a nice christmas-present ..  ;D

Found other typos  :-[  :
- The mouse-over of the open cabinet in the bathroom says Firt Aid --> First Aid
- The mouse-over of the bedside table in the bedroom (duh...) says Beside table --> Bedside table
(point of discussion... the table is beside the bed so it could be ok. :-) )
- At some point in your inventory: fishing rod pototipe --> prototype (?)
- At some point in your inventory: melt plastic --> melted plastic

The title at the moment is Righteous City 1: A New Charge. Is that right? I'm not quite getting that. Should that be A New Chance?

I liked the atmosphere the game created, most of the jazz standard midis worked very well. It is pretty text-heavy - which I normally like, but in that case it felt like excess text sometimes.

Even if the walking animation is a bit awkward and overall the graphics are quite plain - they are consistent and do their job perfectly well. The only thing that really bothered me was the one classic of design flaws that lots of people commit, especially in their first efforts: Lots of puzzles that could logically be solved with any of the inventory items, but they can't.

For example: The magnet in plastic coating. You could definitely pry the coating open with the scissors or the knives in the kitchen - but you can't, and there is not even a response why you can't.

Or the credit card under the bedside table. There are loads of items that could be used for the - very simple - task of retrieving the credit card from under the table, but the can't.

What makes up for that is the fact that is has been very carefully designed, with lots of detail to the characters and nice action responses. If you're in the mood for a classical sleuth story, give it a shot.
I, object.

@MadEvie:

There is an English.tra file in the same folder as the game... right? Then you should be able to run winsetup.exe and select the english translation at the bottom right. If not, what files do you have?

I loved the simple and colourful graphics, and I found the main character very cute, especially the little faces he would make. Like other people have said, the puzzles were sometimes frustrating because sometimes a logical solution to a problem wouldn't work without any explanation. I really like the feel of the game though, and I am looking forward to the next one!! Good job!!  ;D

Yes, great game! I like the particular feeling the game gives and the puzzles, that are quite interesting and original. The only things I didn't like were the default save and load GUIs. I hope they will change to be in theme with the rest of the game in the second part.
Waiting for the next chapter...good job!
