Hi people, just a little update about this.

I've found one location that are willing to hold the event, but it's not that suitable. So I still be looking.

But in better news, Charles Cecil is now a confirmed guest/speaker :D

I think it's definitely going to be 15-20 pound a ticket, no more than that. I'm interested to find out if anyone from overseas might attend, and whether you'd visit a two day event on both days, a two day event on one day, or think a one day event is an all round better option (and whether you'd then just do something else in London for the rest of the weekend) ...

Thanks!

I think this is a great idea and if it happens I hope that it can be organised with maximum coverage so as to really see a really good turnout.

I hope to have at least 1-2 adventure games by then so I would be interested in attending. I am from Australia - I don't know if anyone from this far would visit if they didn't have games they wanted to showoff - but I think it would only be worth it for me if it was a two day event (which I would attend both days), even if it was just an excuse for me to come back to Europe  ;)

Only an idea, that I could be there speaking about Dage, Dog Adventure Game Engine. (http://rahakasvi.hinguere.fi/Dage/docs/doku.php)

That is I still develop that next year ;)

Gotta find some money first though...

I'd suggest something along those lines for the similarly-named XAGE, were it not for my woeful oratory skills.

Besides, I'm slightly miffed about having an inferior logo.

Do you have any idea of when in 2010 this would be?  Beginning of the year?  End of the year?  Any idea?

It sounds like a really awesome idea...

Things are still progressing on this, it's probably going to be my main & only project this year, apart from maybe SCD2 :D Anyway, hehe - festivals put me in a make a festival style jpeg mood. So here's a preliminary poster for the event. If anyone wants to try something creative in full A-4 scale, it'd be a lot of help. I can get them printed professionally.

Tempting line up if ever I did see one and was a geek! And I'm seeing one and I AM a geek, so yes, pretty tempting :D I've got an IT company behind me willing to provide a bunch of laptops, projectors and equipment for the weekend which means it can be quite A/V focussed. Therefore if any AGS developers want to send "videos" to be shown at the event that's also fine, whether it's a tutorial, a preview of your game, what not - there will be several TV screens about the place with interesting stuff on them.

I'm going to put a ticket reserve thing online soon to get an idea of possible numbers, because I don't want to hire a massive hall if there's only going to be a few people, hehe! I'm going to start spreading the word soon, now that more guests have agreed & stuff. Oh yeah, not everyone in smaller fonts on that poster is agreed/confirmed, I just needed to flesh it out a bit for now :P So sorry if I falsely use your name/company to draw people to the event, lol  := Alry Values will not be happy!1

Any marketting suggestions appreciated. I think really now it's best to form a small team, people to approach websites & people who are just happy to turn up on the day and do some door duty & ticket stuff. You will get a walkie-talkie :P So if you're interested (I know a couple of people have expressed interest, please remind me though :P) then that'd be great to know now. 7 months away from doing this, I muchos murracas hope!

PS. If you think you can attend and would like to exhibit/present a game in development then you are still the most important person I need to hear from :D

peace!

Reserve your place by ordering a free ticket reservation at:
http://adventurex.eventbrite.com

Please note you will only be asked for your name & email address, you will not pay anything. When tickets go on sale you will be notified and asked to go back & purchase a real ticket. This is to help me get numbers, but also to make sure YOU are first in line for the limited amount of tickets going :)

If I have the time, the funds and the travel I'll be there.

I won't reserve because I don't want to affect the estimated numbers if I can't make it (london is a long way from bristol where I am now, and even longer from liverpool where I may end up returning to if I don't find a job).

Whereabouts is it? I have a mate going to Goldsmiths University in september which is in New Cross, so I might be able to mix it in with plans to meet him and get him over too (He's doing a games tech course, like I was).

Also once this is set in stone, If im still nearby I'll get in contact with my university, as this seems relevant to a Games Tech course (students like to nag important people about jobs).

Nice lineup you've got there (and I love how Ron Gilbert's name is casually dropped in between all the AGS people :)). My girlfriend is going to study in London for the fall semester, so if she's still there by January I'll definitely see if I can schedule a visit during the con.

Hehe, aye, Ron isn't confirmed but I think he, along with Croshaw, are two people yet to be tempted  ;) Like I said I just needed to flesh out that graphic in the meantime!! May see you there then GG, if not, send her along!!  :=

Stee, it's going to be somewhere near a tube station in London :P Where is still unconfirmed. Need to see or not see a few more numbers on the reservations to decide how to scale the event. If you can make it, great, if not, thanks for giving me some input in the early stages!! :D

I'm an exhibitor as well?  I didn't know that! :o  Unless your definition of expo exhibitor is different than mine?  Usually it means getting booth space to demonstrate (i.e. exhibit) your products.  I don't remember buying booth space...

It's not looking very likely that I will be there in person, but I'd love to present some Resonance via webchat if you're into that!
