The only reason most iPhone owners have an iPhone is so that they can flash it around in public making sure everyone knows they have an iPhone.

They're the kind of people who come back from holiday and spill their Euros all over the counter in shops saying "oh, you don't want those do you?" just so you know they've been on holiday.

The trouble is so many people have an iPhone, that it's not really as impressive as they think, it just makes them look like wankers.  It's like when mobile phones first came out, and those who had one made sure everyone knew about it, but these days everyone has one and they tend to keep it to themselves unless it's got an Apple logo on it.

Lol calm down buddy.

Ipods are pretty smart and the OS is nice. To say everyone who owns one is a wanker doesn't make you look very good, or mature does it mate?

Nathan the fact that you capitalized it as "Ipod" instead of the real name, iPod just proves that you sir are in fact a "wanker."

By the way, why was I still of the impression you were on hiatus? Seems you been somewhat active over the last two weeks (at least comparatively to the last 9 months!).

I'll add to the consensus that Stupot has a great point. Of course back when everyone was "Look at me, look at me, I've got a cell phone!" was also the point at which cell phones had to be carried around in a briefcase...so it was easy to notice. Whereas now they're so small they're much easier to hide. :P Except iPhones which are still large.

Edit: @TerranRich (below): "pseudo-PDA"? You're one of those people who say that a Mac isn't a PC aren't you? PDA stands for Personal Digital Assistant. That's completely ambiguous. I get the idea that the term was brought about in reference to a specific type of device, but just like a PC is a Personal Computer so is a Macintosh when it's owned and operated privately. I'm just being a bit analytical here, but really all these acronyms we've got should really have some more thought put into them (IMO). :P

Let's be honest. Most people suck at coding. I suck at coding, but at least my code is readable. To Hell with anyone too lazy to maintain consistent formatting in their code. I could deal with bad interfaces and structure if I could even read your horrible code. And that's putting it nicely. -monkey

If I own an iPhone (or an iPod Touch more likely), it'll be because I've always wanted one and it would be insanely useful for me. I won't be looking to impress anybody with it... though scoring a hot babe because of my pseudo-PDA would be nice.

Beginning a sentence with a capital letter  :o unheard of!

And people come and go, i only started logging in again because i thought i had a programmer for HTMI but he's kinda busy now.

How are you anyway? Last i heard from you was something about a religious voyage?

Yes well ignoring that, if you're looking for a programmer I'm game.

And as for your capitalization techniques, if you were insistent on doing it that way then it should have been IPod. :P

Due to personal reasons the aforementioned trip has yet to take place. I'm still very much a religious person, though due to those same reasons I rarely actually practice. I'd still like to make good on that one day; but for now it, like so many other projects around here, is on indefinite hold.

Stupot that's quite a generalisation. Maybe most people you know with iphones are wankers, however I don't know a single person who does that. When something great exists - from mobile phones to flashy cars - there are always going to be a few people somewhere who are dicks and only get it to look cool. You can apply that to anything that exists and is in some way good. For you to find an overwhelming majority of people do this with the iphone shows that either you're surrounded by an unusual number of dicks, or you're just overreacting and in fact you meet plenty of people every day who have iphones and you don't even know about it. To say most people who own iphones do so at great expense only so that they can flash it around in public seems a bit ridiculous and bitter.

I'm also quite sure nobody bothers to throw down euros 'just so you know they've been on holiday'. That sounds more like you're being a bit bitter mate, but maybe where you are from, most people are genuine wankers and bother to spend their time thinking about this stuff.

Anyway I just came back to this thread to link you all to this, yay!:  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8169971.stm

Of course I'm generalising.  Alongside exaggeration, it's one of the many fun features of friendly banter.  One of my best mates owns an iPhone, and while I wouldn't call him a wanker, he certainly does like to flash it around in public.

I'm also quite sure nobody bothers to throw down euros 'just so you know they've been on holiday'.

Having worked in a grocery store in a very middle-class village for almost 6 years, I can tell you this is an almost fortnightly occurance.  And sometimes it's so obvious it's funny.

I only recently discovered Spotify (along with torrents and the definition of "tldr").  It's quite a handy tool... except for the lack of original Chili Peppers stuff... it's all tribute stuff... still a good substitute for free though.

I have an n97, its all of the iPhone for a reasonable price <3 Although it has a few issues, Im an early adopter.  I am jealous of iPhone spotify :( But apparently they have other mobile versions in the wings, so they might roll them out pretty quickly over time.

Also, uh, its full of chilis... The old stuff, but I prefer that stuff mostly.

Who wouldn't want a legal way to play monkey island on the move? Despite the visuals being shite in the remake switching to old skool gfx makes everything warm and fuzzy again :)

Plus those 1080i backgrounds look a lot less unfinished on the iPhone.
