No one else seems to have mentioned it, so I thought I'd ask...was the site broken all week? I couldn't access the forums or games until today, kept getting errors.

Yep. Snakes in the server. As for fixing it, a feisty AGS mongoose did the trick.

But well, this happens from time to time... but it was definitely the longest downtime I've experienced so far.

I consoled myself by imagining that the crash was due to ten thousand people spontaneously deciding to download my game all on the same day.

Needless to say, this was not the case.

If it was the case I suspect the download counter would be a little higher than it, in fact, is. Unless the number is just too vast for the system to accurately represent. One can always hope, right?

I think I spent about an hour updating the page and searching google for alternative links (like that would have worked)

72 hours of no-ags-forum, that's rehabilitation.
Knowing it would not be fixed before Monday but still I tried so much times in
this weekend checking the forum by updating the page (with no result of course)...

I've had no internet all week so I wasnt even aware of the downtime.... perhaps it is my very presence that keeps this website running... somehow I doubt that

The MySQL server was down. CJ was away all weekend or something, but he managed to get it fixed when I to text him to let him know.

And SSH, the forums aren't hosted on girlscouts, so Hajo can't do anything. The forums are hosted on a dirty Windows server.

I once cheated on the server with a Linux machine, and ever since then my punishment has been that every time I go away, the disk fills up and it stops working.

On my return, with regret I decided to delete my Best Of S Club 7 collection from the server to free up space, and thus it is now fixed.
