I downloaded many games I would like to try but every time I get the message:
"no mouse was detected on your system, or your mouse is not configured to work with DirectInput".
Of course I have a mouse, and I tried to install DirectX9.0c and restarted the computer with no success.
I am working in Windows XP SP3, Pentium E5300 (Dual Core).
I will be glad for any help, since I found no related topic for that problem!

Go to Start -> Run, enter "dxdiag", hit Enter.
Go to the Input tab and make sure the mouse is listed there.

Try downloading the newest driver, another driver or switch to a generic driver (in Hardware settings, change the driver to Microsoft -> generic PS/2 / USB mouse).

I tried to change the Driver couple of times, with no success.
the mouse is not listed in the DirectInput Device, but is appearing in Input related device under PS/2 Devices (although its plugged in USB).
One more thing, while I change the tab to Input in the dxdiag, It show me a message:
"Error: Problem getting input info, result code = 0x80004005 (Generic Failure)"
:(

There seems to be something wrong with your system. If it's a USB mouse but listed as PS/2 device, there something wrong much deeper than AGS or DirectInput.
