Okay, I think I have an idea about how to make the magnet. I think you use the battery to charge some metal object like the water pipe or knife but I can't figure out where to get the wires to attach the battery to something.

First of all, use the hide tags when you write stuff with solutions, so you don't spoil it for others.
Secondly, I'll awnser with sort of a riddle:
it's ebony and ivory that hit the strings you need - look it even kind of rhymes  ;D
The impossible often has a kind of integrity which the merely improbable lacks.

I need help getting into the casino.  If that involves getting a suit, some hints towards that would be great!

If you haven't been in ...
the first-class-room on third floor, it's impossible.

Therefor you should try to ...
upgrade your room.

Thanks Tabata.  How might I go about upgrading my room?  I've already... erm ... well, I don't know how to format spoilers, so I'll avoid saying too much.  I've given something to the concierge, but it hasn't gotten me an upgrade, only casino credit.

first hint: try "hide" instead of "spoiler"  ;)

second hint
Maybe you find something you can complain about

a bit more?
For example bad food served in the restaurant would be an argument

That was all I needed.  Thanks!

Thanks for your help with the hints. Sorry about the spoilers. I'll hide it next time.

Hey, still a problem with:

Getting into the casino. I gave the mouse soup to the concierge and I got credit for the casino. But I can't get the room upgrade.

Hey,

Little bit stuck. I can't seem to use the lever
(communications antennae) which I've stuck into the hull breach.
I'm assuming this is how to bypass the heavy partition?

Could I trouble someone  to give me a pointer, please?

Also: can anyone else not open the final two pages of the hint book?

Cheers,

Use the solenoid on the debris and wedge the part under the pole

@ Corto:
If you already ...
complained about your room and the restaurant and got your casino-credit ...
...without any upgrading, did you also give the concierge the ...
ring you found?
If so, I don't know another way to get it correct, but ...
... maybe the bug is still active and you are able to simply go through the door ;)

I'm liking the game a lot so far!

To get from your second class suite to your first class suite, you must
first gain, then remit your Star Alliance rewards points

How do you gain points? I found the card, but it has 0 points. I can't figure out how to get any.

And on the second-floor room:
Is it possible to enter the bathroom, or is the open door a red herring?

Thanks!

Well, I did it by  ...
my own.

(a bit more?)
Think about a way to to lure away the concierge from that computer.

about second-floor:
I was able to go in (no extra view), but couldn't do anything from/in there.

Thanks, but I had already guessed that was the way to solve. However,
I don't know where to play the recording of the fire alarm to get the concierge's attention. The main character says "not here" everywhere I try to play it. Where should I do it?

Ok, I'm dumb :)

I assume you mean:
the piano

But it tells me
that I gave up piano when I discovered girls

How do you
get the strings
...?
