Whatever happened to this poor fellow, he didn't see it coming until it was too late.

Hello, my name is Betocapo, and I am new in this community. I'm not a videogame programmer, or stuff like that, but I can be a beta tester! Well, here's my sprite! It's and ice cube with tiny insects frozen inside! I'm still new at this, that's the reason the drawing is not so good, but with time I will go improving my drawing skills

You already know, that I am not a painter, but I like the topic and wanted to use my tablet again having some fun and that's all.

The sprite and the same sprite with a more different background color than the forum

. . . to realize more easily what I did tried to freeze the twig

I just had to do this...

Electron micrograph of a single E. coli bacteria cryo-fixed (within a few milliseconds) at high pressure (and then post-processed to make it really small again for this entry  ;D ). Frozen as instant as you can get it (and not even magic can beat that)

That being said:
great (real) entries guys/girls/entities that do not want to be addressed by their gender or words starting with the letter g...

Okay, the jam is locked!
I thank you all for taking part and contributing your fantastic interpretations.
The decision is not easy, so I will take a little time, if you don't mind of course. :)

The winners are:

third price goes to: Betacapo - bonus points are the clarity and the interesting characters
second price goes to: Lyaer - because there seems to be a long story involved
first price goes to: Tabata - this is not a default frozen twig, it's different and it was made with love

I liked yours too, ghost, there is a lot of action in your sprite. Misj's frozen colibacteria has the innovation and the shock effect on it's side, but it was not looking frozen enough, more like a rock in a plastic bag. xD

congratulations, people!

I am speechless! That was really unexpected!

Gratulations to betocapo and Layer for getting a trophy, too!

I'll try to come up with the next theme soon.

in it's defence...I did embed it in Epon (it's a resin/plasic) after freezing it and prior to cutting EM slices. But I do admit that e.coli are boring. That's why I prefer mammalian cells...much more to see ;-)

All kidding aside: congrats Tabata! nice win!

Thanks! Well at first i thought of "draw a fish that is walking up a staircase while smoking a cigar", but that was too stupid

Agreed. The cigar would make it ... less marketable:
