Fragment -- am I stuck or just lost?
« on: 22 Jan 2012, 23:57 »
I got through the BIOS puzzle...

but when I put the "1" in the on/off switch, I was standing on the platform just to the left of the switch, not the one right under it. Now I'm standing in a purply cliff area, and I can talk to Arkady's support program, but I can't walk around. Talking to Arkady doesn't seem to yield anything useful and I don't see any other clickables.

So I think I'm either missing something, or stuck in a 'wall'. Help?

I'm having the exact same problem.

Another thing I've noticed is that when I first got to that new screen, the rightmost platform from the BIOS screen was still there. It vanished after the talk with Arkady, I think, but there's also still a "boolean" tag in the left half of the screen, somewhere in the chasm, even though there's no object anymore.
I really hope this isn't a game-stopper that would require me to re-start and play through the whole thing again ...  :'(
(That's a huge drawback if you only get one savegame slot.)

Oh wow people, it seems like you have actually found a game-stopping bug! I will try and fix this as soon as possible and replace the bake sale version with an updated version, you are actually
supposed to stand on the rightmost platform when putting the zero into the slot. Normally, talking to Arkady should yield a sort of fragment rain and get you back to the lab.

I'll look into this!

edit: Okay, the bug has been fixed. I'll provide the bake sale team with an updated version of the game. Do you two want to have the link via private message? I don't have time right now, but I can also send you a savegame for the exact point where the game crashed later today.

Thanks for your reports!

Yeah, that would be awesome, thanks! I also made the mistake of saving in the purply cliff area so my current savegame is borked.  :P

Hello people - this should work: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16735116/bakesale/Fragment_agssave.zip

I just tested it with my updated version, I hope it still works with the one before (although the Bake Sale version should be updated by now). I didn't have to change any functions, it was only a small variable that was breaking the game, so it should work.

Thanks again for reporting, and have fun finishing the game!
I, object.

After some 'experimenting and research' I was able to correctly set up the updated Fragment with the savegame, continue to play and see both endings. Thanks a lot! And thanks for sharing, nice little game.  :)

Unrelated newbie question: How come that sometimes savegames are stored in the game folder and sometimes they're stored in a "Saved Games" directory in Windows' "User" folder? Is that depending on a setting defined by the designer, on the AGS version, on the operating system or something completely different?
