It's supposed to use SSO (so same login as the forums), but it doesn't work correctly in SMF 2.1 yet.

I've noticed that if you have multiple links in a table, hovering over one link will highlight all of the links in the same row of that table, even though all the links definitely point to different pages.

I noticed today by accident that if you time out while rating a game, the comment field will show up unsigned on the db games page. When I signed back in at the forums and returned to the game page, the comment was there, but my votes/rating had not been registered.

You aren't closing your BBCode tags correctly:

[b][url="https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2604-saturday-night-is-the-loneliest-night-of-the-week/"]Saturday is the Loneliest Night of the Week[/url][b]

should be:

[b][url="https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/2604-saturday-night-is-the-loneliest-night-of-the-week/"]Saturday is the Loneliest Night of the Week[/url][/b]

I've fixed all the instances I noticed for you.

Thanks for reporting, but this is such an edge case it really isn't worth fixing.  I'll make sure this is accounted for in the new site.

Thanks for fixing my unclosed bold tags. I'm not sure how I let that happen.

This is not related to the issue I described above, though. The issue is about links. Whenever you have multiple links in one row of a table, they all come up orange when you hover over one of them.

Try hovering over one of these two links to two different urls

Yeah, what you describe doesn't happen for me.  I am on the dark theme though, not that that should make any difference.  Which browser do you use?  If you look at the same post in another browser does it behave differently?

I've just switched to dark mode and the problem went away!
But in light mode, I've tried in three different browsers and the same thing occurs on all of them.

Crimson Wizard

I have experienced problem with my own internet connection recently, which is unrelated to this website of course; but something I noticed is that although other sites load up eventually, AGS forums constantly timeouts (i receive ERR_CONNECTION_TIME_OUT), usually during me trying to post, in a mere 2-3 seconds.

Is this because the forum is configured to have a very short timeout?

AGA

PHP was configured to the default timeout on the server, I've tried increasing it to see if that makes any difference...

Quote from: Crimson Wizard on Wed 12/04/2023 11:20:19Is it normal that the tables do not have any borders on the new forum?

Example:
https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/modules-plugins-tools/attn-plugin-authors-gathering-plugin-sources/msg636479467/#msg636479467

This is how it is in the theme, yes.  Not a deliberate choice, just something we missed.  We'll try to get around to tweaking it at some point!

Cassiebsg

Have we had a forum update?
The shortcut to "All Unread Topics" that was along the top aligned with "Unread Posts - Updated Topics" seems to be missing. :(

Also, I seem to find the forum is very slow loading.

I also don't seem to get notifications on threads I follow any longer.

Edit: Yes, I do not get notification on threads I watch/follow.

Snarky

Just to "bump" this issue again: notifications on watched threads still aren't working (for me).

Kitty Trouble

Clicking my username at the topleft corner of the screen takes me to https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/profile/Morgan%20LeFlay/ which is a 403 forbidden error, when my profile is at https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/profile/Morgan+LeFlay/

(It gets the space wrong. Minor bug.)

Hey, not sure if it's a bug or not, and not completely sure it's in ags forums or my network - I had been out with terrible signal and had a few power outages too at home... Anyway, I noticed that the forums are I think a bit slower than normal for me, it's more noticeable when I try to post something, it takes a long time for the browser to be back after hitting post, like it's continuously trying to load or something. Browsing though appears to work ok, I think.

Happened for me as well, with different devices and different networks. Sometimes the page won't load and I have to refresh.

Yeah, the server's on its last legs.  I'm aiming to wipe the server and start again from scratch once the new site is ready.  I'm doing what I can to keep on top of performance issues as they arise, but hopefully it'll get much better before too much longer!
