I definitely don't see that as Limey other than the green.

Point taken. I've been experimenting with trying to get it a bit more recognisable.

There was the smell of smilies in the air and what do I see

You're in luck then, cause I think Tabata is on vacation (she posted a pic today) and she might miss out on this.  ;D
So you really thought you can do this without me noticing

I actually thought bluecup ones would be nice. Bear in mind that bluecup is a [cup] though, not a mug!  That said, I like the ones Khris did.  It would just be better for me if they were more like the AGS logo cup (see the forums' favicon).

Oh, and "Enable smiley set selection by members" is an option, so we could make a variety of default icon sets (Roger, bluecup, whatever), and people could choose between them.  The non default smileys (Larry Vales, Ben Throttle, Sir Graham, whatever) would be the same for everyone.

But it's a mug on the website and forum header, and on the splash screen when you launch AGS. I think those overrule the favicon. Besides, both the dictionary and Wikipedia say that "a mug is a type of cup".

I think some of us aren't British enough to properly understand the distinction?

The favicon is really a teacup, (also a type of cup).

But there are mugs everywhere. Maybe it's time to change the favicon?

Technically correct: The best kind of correct!

Also, popular opinion would lead me to believe these forums need an OSD smiley.

That would be a cool idea. It seems the be as close to themes as we can get.

I like that one: or

the limey lizard one is cool, but I don't see much use for it.
The other ones are either not very readable, or rather dull.

Thanks dude.

It's kinda tiny too.  The default emoticons are 15x15px, although some are larger.  Could you / someone scale it up to fit in better?

This is a quickly scaled up one:

Does the transparency work for everybodies?

The reason it was 10x10 was that it's edited from the original sprite included in the editor.

I've been making some 32x32 smilies as I know smf supports them and I thought I'd share them here.  I'm open to suggestions for iconic ags characters to translate as well.

Also Hudders, that's a nice Limey :).

I really like the blue cup smiles, I'd suggest animating new ones though and not pasting the current animations over it, as the current ones are rather bad. :P
