Stuck at the car chase. 

I keep on throwing the kids magazine at the knight's car but it just blows away.  Am I just suppose to keep doing that repeatedly or is there more to it?

Did you try to investigate the car you're in? If you did, did you try using what you found?

Enjoying it so far, found it not very hard, but this maze in sewer system is started me crazy
any hints appreciated
I assume the drawings around in the sewer indicate for something, or not?

In each starting room there's a drawing of Notre Dame with a word or words below. In the first room, it's NOOSES. Like it says on the sign in the hotel, in French, "west" is spelled "ouest", thus O = west. So from the first actual maze room, go north, west, west, south, east, south.

in the church. I've got the hanger and I've bent it into a hook shape. However, when I try using it on the statue chest, nothing happens. Am I supposed to be doing something else entirely?

Yes. The hanger trick is for later. Just explore and experiment with the environment.

Ordered the drink three times, fourth time I pass out and the game ends. Is the glass needed for anything?
Asked about the meals ordered and used the meals on the dumbwaiter but not sure which meal works. I tried the shepherd's pie and jaffa cakes since the bartender mentioned them, but not sure what to do for desert as I think I tried the 3 choices but got no result when putting the meal in the dumbwaiter. Tried talking to the door in the backroom and to the window outside the pub.

I know I'm probably just being an idiot here (it took me nearly an hour to work out how to straighten the coat hanger ), but can anyone give me a hint as to how to get rid of the 'cataflic' guy?  I can't work out how to get past him... arrrgh!

You need to distract him. If only you could fool him into going to look through that extra doorway...

The answer to this is actually a kind of a pixel hunt; I also missed it the first time. In the second intersection there are some pebbles on the ground. Once you find them, you can just throw them through the doorway and the cataflic guy will follow the sounds, but those pebbles are really, really easy to miss. I think this was probably one of the hardest parts of the game.

Also when the bartender said he ordered the pie does he mean the shepherd's pie or is he talking about something else? Everything I've tried putting in the dumbwaiter just comes back down empty.

Unfortunately (for you ) this puzzle is all made out of red herrings and the challenge lies in noticing what is actually important in the orders. HINT: Take notice that the bartender specifically mentions they don't have even half of the stuff the guy in the room above ordered.

Finally solved this one thanks

I sent up the blood sausage and jaffa cakes without any desert and got a key. Since I didn't see the sausage in the list of ordered food that was the one was giving me problems
