I'm using the Hillbilly, Monk and Knight. I'm in the Monks temple and I'm up to the 3rd test, the magic carpet ride. I'm stuck and can't go any further.

I can make the carpets rise, but I always fall to my death. I have looked at a walkthrough and it mentions to not take or hold any items during the ride up. It also mentions that a rope should appear at the top, but it doesn't appear for me. I tried riding up with just the feather, but that doesn't work either.

I had the same problem, it's a bug in the game.

I think restarting the game fixed it for me.

It's not a bug. You just have to stand really still on the carpet and once you've reached the top there will be a rope you can climb;) I got badly stuck there too...
