I am doing a small 2 room escape game.
The second room is escaping the 1st room.
I want to get room 2 to load fast.  For the shock value.
Is there a way to preload the room?

No. But: If you set the transition style to instant (General settings, or via script), I believe any decent computer will load it instantly.

edit: That was a bit unclear. Changing transition style will not influence loading time, but loading IS speedy and if you remove the fading effect the screen barely flashes. I tried it out with two rooms, it's barely noticeable.

Unless you need a room scrollable in every direction, one workaround trick is to make the two rooms into the same room file, by tiling the backgrounds of the two rooms into one. When you need to "change room", just change the viewport.
