Hi guys I finally decided, so it's time for a new Colouring Ball Competition!
The theme I have chosen is: SPYING

Here's the shape:

Spying means to observe without being seen, and often you are forced to do it in uncomfortable positions ... and it can happens that these uncomfortable positions force you to discover points of view that you never experienced before. A Spying cliché is the keyhole, which is the shape of this Colouring Ball Competition.
Will you be able to convey the essence of a situation, the essence of an ambient or of an event drawing and painting only what you can see from a keyhole?

Rules:

You may:
Resize the keyhole
Make adjustments to the shape or even change the shape of the keyhole. IMPORTANT: it must be a keyhole anyway!
Include a texture for the door around the keyhole

There are no colour limitations.

Competition runs from May 15th to June 1st.
(If someone wants the deadline be extended, feel free to ask).
Have fun!

Trophies

Gold Key - For the Winner

Silver Key - For the Second placed

Bronze Key - For the Third placed

Voting through June 7th, 2014.

Winner Announced. See my last post.

No rule saying that a theme can't repeat- it's pretty much your decision :)

AprilSkies

Ok thanks Ghost (and Armageddon pointing it out).

So le's go on (it's fair because someone could started drawing). It could be funny anyway.

The shape is different.

And Adeel was the only entry in that one, anyway. I shudder to think what he'll come up with for this one!  ;)

That's fine, I've been lucky the old one had only one entry :D
I think it could be a great challange :D

Uhmm... I think there is a remote possibility that I drew outside the shape, just a little, so feel free to disqualify me if you must. Nevertheless, it was fun to do.

Hope all can find it in their hearts to forgive me. Particularly Adeel and Wolfie.

AprilSkies

Thanx for entry.
It's good! ;-)
And really interesting.

There was another cb with a keyhole there I think

Given the shape, and no effort on my own part that I wished to put into this:

Great entry from Arj0n !
And that's what I Always meant for spying from a keyhole!
(You've been lucky to find her taking a shower instead of her husband)

Mandle is disqualified for obvious reasons (laugh)

Misj'

Who said I had to be the one spying and picking locks?

ps. I actually came looking for a SpriteJam, but it turns out the last one was like two years ago. So instead I entered my first ever Colouring Ball.
pps. For those who remember me: Yes, I still exist...Hay guys! :)

arj0n

And gone is my change to win this one, thanx Misj ;)

No seriously, swapping 'who spies on who' is a cool idea, great entry!

Adeel

No need to apologize, jwalt. I laughed so much looking at it. I also loved the concept you put in there. Pakistani guy managing an Indian restaurant and making British 'sausages': coolest entry ever. (laugh)

Unfortunately, given my current state of well being, I won't be able to participate. Had I participated, I would have drawn something similar to that of Arj0n's.

Great Entries Everyone! :)

AprilSkies

Thanx for your great entry Misj.
It's awesome and really interesting... to be on the other side of the keyhole!

Wait, you think more people are going to vote for some creepy weird guy who is possibly a stalker, than for a good looking woman. What has the world come to in my absence?

Ghost

I actually thought I had a neat and cool idea...

As are mine. Who's going to think that my idea is original now?

And I had such an awesome pun, too. Because that's a Kee-Hole, see? Where there's a lock, there is a Kee.

CURSES*!!! :P

But damn, sweet art as always Misj! Nice to see you again!

thank you, and it's good to see that some old acquaintances are still active (and I still love your art-style).

Yes, how dare you rip off Hobo and have a blue person looking in! :D

I think there's only so many ideas you can come up with when you're given a keyhole. I am surprised no-one yet made an entry with the key still in the lock!

AprilSkies

Very good! So we have a "KEE-hole" too ;-D

... and we have a very funny suggestion too:

Very nice ideas and entries I must say.
So, here's my top three favorites:

1.: Hobo
2.: Misj
3.: Ghost

Ghost

1st: CassieBsg
I just love the idea of looking through an ordinary keyhole and seeing a galaxy out there. It's almost as if Douglas Adams sprited that.

2nd: Misj'
Lovely lovely art and great amount of detail, plus a wicked idea.

3rd: Arjon
Just classic. And nicely retro. Basically the Larry Laffer entry of the whole bunch.

I finally processed the data, counting the total votes and weighting votes according to the positions (1st 2nd and 3rd).
The result was the same for both methods:

So....

1st place:  Arj0n

2nd place:  Misj'

3rd place:  Gurok

Congrats Arj0n, the ball is in your hand!

Wow, thank you all!

I really enjoyed the idea/theme of this CB.
Now let's see if I can come up with a cool theme for a new one... :)

Adeel

Congratulations Arj0n! You deserved that victory. Now go and make a great game similar to Leisure Suit Larry (once you're finished with hosting the competition).

Congrats to the winners! :)
