The least invasive thing to try is to stop some services. Would you be willing to close all applications, then stop these services:

...and then test the game again? It's probably best to reboot after testing for the easiest way to start the services again. You can get the graphical services manager by typing

in a command prompt window. You may have to stop AVG Watchdog first (if it's actually a watchdog process it might restart the other AVG service), and since your antivirus will be off you should probably disconnect from the Internet while testing, and not reconnect until after the reboot.

I have been busy for the last two weeks, so unfortunately I was unable to spend the time testing without those services. I finally got around to it today, and turning all of those off had no effect.

Same problem here with Gemini Rue and Resonance on Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Gemini Rue doesn't even seem to have any way of accessing the menu without a keyboard. I eventually got so frustrated that I bought the game again for my Android tablet, but obviously spending twice because of technical issues shouldn't be the solution. Also, I had previously purchased quite a few Wadjet Eye Games from GOG (7 or so, however, none yet played, Gemini Rue was going to be my first), but now I'm afraid I'll have the same trouble with all of them.... Also, besides some Blackwell titles and The Shivah the others are not out on Android.... Really frustrating...

I can report that after upgrading to Windows 10, I no longer seem to be having the keyboard issue.

I wonder if it's related to the tablet input mode that you can activate (or may be activated by the installation of other software) on Windows 7.
