A Tale of Two Kingdoms: Bug?

Hi,

I have recently been playing "A Tale of Two Kingdoms". When I pick up the bone from under the skull, it does not appear in my inventory, though my character is holding it. When I switch away from it (e.g. use an item in my inventory) it is gone forever. Is this a bug?
