While sprite upscaling over backgrounds looks a bit weird, It definitely looks fantastic nevertheless!
I get Gabriel Knight vibe from those shots.
Unless text appears over portraits' heads, positions of talking heads looks a bit strange too.

Waiting :)

Just a typical afternoon investigation of an attempted murder.

Danvzare

Ooh, looking nice.
That artwork is simply gorgeous. :-D

kconan

Stunning stuff and love the setting, looking forward to playing this one!

Chicky

The colour choices in those sprites compliment the background perfectly, looks like you've taken the angle of the light source into account!? I really dig the 320 sprites, it gives the game it's own style/identity.

Grundislav

A nice little writeup from someone who tried out the game at AdventureX (contains minor spoilers)

SilverSpook

Great looking background there!

harima

I love your gabriel knight style
If you don't get bored, it should work maybe.

Well, here's some more! :D

Visiting the Spectre Society for some help from beyond.

Andail

Love that bg, great details (like the paintings, which are often underdeveloped in background art), and excellent control of textures and perspective.

OMG! please, let the chandelier fall down 8-0

Enjoying a drink between cases at The Fallen Angel.

Cassiebsg

Oooohhh. Nice fire and great angle. Now I feel like a peeping tom... (laugh)
Mentioning how wonderful the BG is, is though pointless, cause you already know that! ;)
There are those who believe that life here began out there...

Blondbraid

It all look beautiful, and I like the steampunk setting!

Mandle

I love the outside-looking-in framing of that last picture. It makes the inside of the pub feel all that more cozy and inviting.

paolo

Wow, this looks beautiful, Grundislav! I can't wait to play it.

SilverSpook
