It's a jungle out there, but sometimes it's a jungle in there too.

SilverSpook

Looks awesome!

Taking design notes from Unavowed, I see. :)

Grundislav

Haha well, this is created with science, not magic :D

Mr Underhill

Hey Grundi. Big fan of you and Ben's podcast, looking forward to more!

I'm working on an HD game and it's taking forever to paint the backgrounds, I'm really curious how much you're putting into painting one of these rooms, on average.

Keep up the good work, excited for Lamplight City!

It takes me on average about a day and a half or so depending on the complexity of the background. But also keep in mind that I'm painting them at 960x600, so it's really not that high res.

Your game's looking great, btw!

Ghostcat

I want to marry this game. Any estimates on when it'll be finished yet?

Still aiming for late 2017, thought that might not be super realistic.

Here's a sneak peek at the Main Title Suite, which you'll hear appropriately enough, on the title screen!

Another screenshot showing some more actual lamplight in Lamplight City :)

Blondbraid

Nice, very atmospheric!

dactylopus

That's really cool.  I like the unfinished paintings in the background.

Snarky

Neato magneto!

I remember you said you were inspired by Atkinson Grimshaw for the art in this game, and I can definitely see that in this background.

Yes, a quick Google Image search of Atkinson Grimshaw definitely shows where the influence is coming from.

Oh, looks awesome :D

Though by the title of the game i sort of hoped it would be about the actual city of lamps, in Lucianos' "A real story" :=

Blondbraid

The last screenshot looks great, love the details on the wallpaper!
However, is it just me, or does the shadow in the right corner look weird, like it was cut off?
