Hopefully gaps will be allowed in the shape, as long as the main overall outline stays the same.

The outline is perfectly intact. Using gaps can be a great way to open up more things you can do with a shape while still following the rules. I'll respect whatever the host chooses.

Gaps are fine as long as the outline is logically colored, NickyNyce's entry is completely legit for me.
Also, with so many quality entries I might have to add another trophy to the list.
