Did all three die of the same causes?

Tabata

#41
CASE # 2:
They found three dead bodies in the room, also a set of cards and a revolver.
What happened?

Yes
Were they playing some form of Russian Roulette with the cards and the gun?
Had the revolver been fired by one of the people found dead?
Was (one of) the people shot?

No
Were (all of) the people shot?
Was there a 4th person playing cards and lost all his money so he shot the other 3 and fled with the money?
… was there signs of a robbery gone bad?
Did all three die of the same causes?
Were the cards playing cards?

irrelevant/don't know myself
did the dead bodies have money on them, …

„Were the cards playing cards?“
Ahem â€" pardon? Neither me nor Google translate understand the question, sorry.
Can someone please explain this to me?
Edit:
I googled a bit more and might have found about the meaning.
They didn't play a kind of fortune-telling game and there were no tarot cards involved.
So I placed it now in the list for "no".
In case I still didn't get what you meant, Snarky, please tell me.

They each drew a card and the one with the lowest card is going to be killed with the gun, but before they can reveal their cards one guy picks up the gun and shoots the other two, then he turns over the cards and realizes he had the lowest card then dies from a heart attack.

Had the gun been fired more than once?
Were the cards business cards?

Don't worry Tabby... it took me a few reads to understand "Were the cards playing cards?" and I'm a native english speaker.

I had an image of the cards sitting around a table holding hands of smaller cards... :-[

@Tabby - Unless otherwise specified, "playing cards" generally refers to these traditional suited cards used for poker, blackjack and close-up magic tricks:

Was one of the three people a magician?

Mandle

I'm guessing they were playing a card game, but one of them used to be a wild west gunslinger. So when the game started and someone said "DRAW!" (as in "draw a card") he instinctively pulled out his gun and shot the other two men dead from force of habit. Realizing what he had done he shot himself from the guilt.

Danvzare

Did at least one of the three people die of natural causes?
Did at least one of the three people die of poison?
Did at least one of the three people get stabbed?
Did at least one of the three people get bludgeoned?

I want to cover my bases. :-D

Riaise

Did any of the three shoot themselves?

Kumpel

@Mandle: Can't be. at least one of them did not die by a gun.

Were there still bullets in the gun?

Tabata

@ Watson Mandle
Since you didn't post a question I'll I assign it as a solution attempt that â€" as Kumpel stated correctly â€" is impossible because it doesn't fit the already ascertained facts.
So you'll get a

Did they play a game that they thought only one of them would survive?
Did one of the people shoot the two others?
Did they each look at their own card and assumed that they had won or lost?

Cassiebsg

Did one of them shot himself?
If so, was it an accident?
Or was it a suicide?

Mandle, did you hit re-submit???  ???

BTW, I have a feeling I knew the solution to this riddle... but can't remember it.  (laugh)

No, I changed the part that didn't fit the facts (nod)

But it still doesn't fit the facts now that I look again so please ignore it and:

Here's my new guess(es) at the solution:

VERSION #1
They were playing a game where they each draw a card and whoever gets a certain card (for example an Ace) must shoot themself.
Mr. A shuffled the deck and spread the cards out on the table
Everyone drew a card
Mr. B looked at his card: The ace of spades
Mr. B shot himself
Mr. C looked at his card, but it was also the ace of spades
Realizing Mr. A was using a rigged deck that contained only aces Mr. C choked Mr. A to death
Mr. C died from a heart attack caused by all the excitement and exertion

VERSION #2
They were playing a game where they each draw a card and whoever gets a certain card (for example an Ace) must shoot themself.
Mr. A shuffled the deck and spread the cards out on the table
Everyone drew a card
Mr. B looked at his card: An ace
Mr. B shot himself
Mr. C looked at his card, but it was also an ace
Suspecting Mr. A was using a rigged deck that contained only aces Mr. C choked Mr. A to death
After killing Mr. A, Mr C. checked the rest of the cards and found that it was actually a normal deck
Mr. C died from a heart attack brought on by the shock of killing Mr. A in cold blood

(Or something like that... Something about one of them getting busted for cheating feels right...)

So also a question in the likely event my solution is not right:

Did one of the men get busted for cheating at the game?

Kumpel

Did the third guy laugh himself to death? (laugh)

Stupot

I want to clarify...
Are the cards 'playing cards' of the suited 1-10 Jack Queen King Ace variety?
