Is each of the slots just one word, or can it be a short phrase?

#3: win

Stupot

@S-Made. I like it.

The Last To Know

Thanks, Stupot+
But not sure if I'm going the right direction with this.
As far as I know, #1, #3 and #7 have to rhyme, right?

WINNER!!!

Here's the story behind the case if anyone is interested:
Spoiler

Hitler was still obsessed with winning his failed war even at the last moments of the war as he was surrounded by armies from all sides.

In his bunker he married his long-time mistress Eva Braun at the last moment.

He planned their suicide together by poison for her and for himself but also planned to shoot himself in the head just to make sure.

But he was suspicious of the suicide pills and terrified of being captured alive by the Soviets.

If the pills had been exchanged for sedatives by a traitor then he was screwed.

So he tested the pills on his beloved pet German Shepherd "Blondie" first...

Then Eva took them, and then Hitler shot himself in the head.

But none of this absovling him from any of what he did was the point of the last line of the limerick.

Nope, just guessing which words could make sense and would rhyme ;)
But nice that you found a character where it fits.
