HELP! stuck in Just Another Point and Click!

I'm still stuck at the begining... but what follows may be a bit of a spoiler...

I figured out that I need the extension chord, but I can't distract Alistair... I thought that the water with the laxatives in it would do it... but when i give it to him nothing happens!

ARGH! Well, i deleted the game from my computer by accident and now I can't download it again... any ways to fix that?
