Hi to everyone i'm glad to announce that we are working on the sequel of Chronicle of Innsmouth. I'm not alone anymore. With me there are AprilSkies(Arts) and Mandle(Translation, Testing and all related to english stuff, except this one for now :))

Overview

The game takes place ten years before Chronicle and tell the odissey of Lone Carter since it disappears in the first game.
there will be old and new characters and this time we will even get to the mountains of madness :)
Thanks to the contribution of Andrea Ferrara we brought the resolution to 640 x 360 and we changed the nine verbs with a more convenient right/left mouse interface.
We are close to launch a kickstarter campaign in order to provide the best product we can and to be able to translate it in as many languages †‹†‹as possible and if we can, why not, realize porting ios / android and maybe switch. I will warn you as soon as it will be online if someone wants to support us.

Story: 100%
Scripting: 100%
Graphics: 75%
Sound/Music: 60%

Some pictures for you:

Looking good and looking forward to the release. (nod)
Also, I (my husband) got a switch, so if you need a tester for it, let me know. ;)
There are those who believe that life here began out there...

selmiak

wow, pretty impressive imagery and this should be a huge and colorful world you are building there :D

WOW!  This looks gorgeous...I would definitely love to help support the making of this game, I loved the first one!  Any estimate (I'm sure it depends on a multitude of factors) on when you guys are hoping to complete the game?

Good luck with the project, the backgrounds look great!

thanks for reply guys :-D
we want to release it in late 2019, it's a realistic dead line cause we are more organized than before.

it's a realistic dead end

Scary! Does that mean that all of us on the team drink poisoned cool-aid together on the day of the release? What a publicity stunt!

(Or did you mean "deadline"?)

I must say, the screenshots look lovely!

It looks great, you can never have too many lovecraftian games. Looking forward to it.

Those backgrounds are gorgeous! Very excited about this - best of luck with the development :)

Just saw this on Kickstarter, and backed it!
Looks absolutely fantastic!   ( :

Mandle

14 hours left to take advantage of the Super Early Bird Backer Reward!!!

And have fun with the demo! We were tweaking it until 6 minutes before the Kickstarter began, so hopefully it's perfect.

But mention any issues in this thread please if any occur!

(Hover over our Staff Portraits, masterpieces by AprilSkies, there for a creepy surprise!)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I played the demo. It took about 25 minutes to complete. All I can say is that it's INCREDIBLE! The graphics and animation are outstanding. I liked the puzzles and the story is gripping. This has huge potential.

BEST FIRST REVIEW OF ALL TIME!!!

I played too. Very nice work for sure. Left me hanging and wanting to continue. The guy walking around was walking a lil slow and I would say it was my phone (old S4). Other than that.... Nice work to all of you! Very special thing here and I am thankful to have played it.

Thanks for the good word!

And, yeah, I'd say the slowdown you experienced was a hardware issue. When I tested the game on a really old computer, like 15-years-old, I got some slowdown now and then especially when a lot of animations and layers were in play at the same time.

KEEP THE KEY!

Durinde

Missed out on the early bird stuff, but I've backed anyway!

Good luck!

Mandle

The demo of the game is now also playable in the following languages:

Spanish
German
French
Russian

Whoops, looks like I misunderstood.

I think it's only the trailer that has those subtitles so far.

SarahLiz

Can't wait to try the demo!  I played the first Chronicles of Innsmouth & really liked it...and this one looks even better!  I'm definitely happy to support the making of it on Kickstarter.  Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to the release!

CrashPL

Backed, my fine fellows. Keep up the great work, it looks grand so far, and I haven't even played the demo yet! :D

Mandle

Sorry for the deliberate bump, but the project still needs some support.

We are halfway through the kickstarter campaign and approaching the first goal but the stretch goals are really where the heart and soul of the production lay.

To anyone who hasn't checked the kickstarter page out yet:

You can get a pretty cool free demo at the least and might feel like coughing up a few phlegm-covered bucks in the meanwhile.

We'll even pick them up without gloves. Getting pretty used to fluid-oozing monstrosities from beyond the veil over here. :-D

ManicMatt

The lighting in this game looks very effectively moody. Looking great!

Mandle

The first funding goal has been reached over at kickstarter!

However, the stretch goals are also vital and need support!

There is also a new reward package recently added, "Permanent Resident", which allows you your own gravestone in the Christchurch Cemetery within the game, including your chosen name and personal epitaph.

selmiak

This is great fun. Do you have some money to burn? I could translate this demo to german for you and maybe later the complete game but let's start small first!

And I longplayed that demo for everyone still unsure if they should back the game or not...

Never underestimate the German market for adventure games. They're your number one marketing target.

EDIT: this demo is most impressive.

Mandle

Thanks guys for the support and feedback!

We are at 5 days to go on the kickstarter campaign and the game is now funded for development!!!

But, it would be really nice to be able to include full voice acting in the initial release. The original game only added voice acting afterwards which was paid for at a loss, as is to be expected on a first indie outing, but at professional quality with real actors and proper recording levels.

If anyone could spread the word even further and it was possible to guarantee a fully voice-acted first release then this would really help the game gain a foothold of positive reviews right off the bat.

KEEP THE KEY!

Mandle

We are down to the final 62 hours and need a final-straight push to get us to the first stretch goal!

If anyone was waiting until the last minute to throw in a buck or two then this is that time!

Cheers for all the awesome support so far, though, of course!

Frodo

I know Mountains Of Madness will be DRM-free.

My pledge-level includes the original Chronicles Of Innsmouth.  Will that also be DRM-free?

Sorry for the late reply on this, Frodo, but I believe Umberto replied also on Steam, perhaps.

So, yeah, for the record in here, the original Chronicle Of Innsmouth will be available DRM-free on itch.io is what I have heard.

Can't wait to play it!!!

(Again... maybe tomorrow)

mkennedy

Good luck with the new Indiegogo campaign. Hopefully you will get some more backers to raise the funds to meet your stretch goals.

rmonic79

Thanks mkennedy. By the way we’re trying to reach switch and mobile porting anyway. it’s a little more complicated and time consuming without enough funds but i’m confident that we’ll reach it.

rongel

Good luck finishing the game, I wishlisted it today!

I did some beta testing on your first game and if this still an option, I'll be more than glad to work on this sequel, let me know by PM and I'll give my email address!

Towards your first game I was surprise landing on following when clicking on your avatar:

QuoteI haven't yet worked on any finished games

I remember that AGS forum wasn't available, some errors took place by making us believe that no works were done on your part "rmonic79"

So I took liberty linking your first game of "Chronicle Of Innsmouth" so members can try out:

https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=51243.0

As of matter of fact, search within AGS failed locating that game. Thankfully Google is our best friend! LOL

It's finally going to be woken from the depths on March 23rd... Only a few days away!

Watch this amazing trailer, and tremble in fear, all you specks of dust floating randomly in an insane cosmos.

What band plays the heavy metal music heard in the video?

Wow, I didn't realize the release being so close! Wonderful! Day 1 purchase for me. :)

Hi Playing the game on PC and enjoying it a lot. Innsmouth was my favorite game in years. A question on Mountains though. I also put it on my Android tablet to play on the go and the game works but when it goes to the cutscene to leave to blow up the ice-wall it dips to 1 frame and never progresses to the next scene. It would be great if there is a way to skip the cutscenes so I could play it on the android ags version. I tried clicking any mouse button the Esc key and the android back key but nothing skips the cutscenes. Any word on this would be appreciated. Otherwise enjoying playing it.

rmonic79

The game was released on March 23 2021 Guys!!! Thanks for all these years of support!!! ;) ;) :) :)
