Almost no shading on this one, so its ripe for coloring if anyone wants to (and I would love to see it colored!)

Mats Berglinn

Looks great but Elaine doesn't have an eye-patch. Those boxes behind her is a bit weird formed. Otherwise very good.

Mats, eye patches were a craze between MI2 and CMI. I did the background rather quickly so the oddities there (its a barrel).

BOYD, I'll get that right next time.

Maybe you shouldn't have filled in her hair black...she has brownish redish hair... ???

Hmmm, it's harder than I thought to colour someone's work.

Anyway, the shadows didn't come out very well but I only spend 10-15 minutes to colour this image.

Wow Erwin, the beauty of that one truely plucks at my soul strings! I think its the skin color that gives it the old-pirate-treasure-map look. Also I had missed putting in the sea, i had thought the horizon would be on a much lower level than the sea top - now that you've added it really makes it swashbuckling! The shadows as you mentioned are the problem, I never add shadows with a soft brush (I try not to use the burn tool too, but that works nicely most times). I find a hard edged brush gives more realistic shadows, as the sun would cast much sharper shadows than these, as for example on the pole behind elaine.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I had quite forgotten what Elaine looks like and mostly just did a female pirate hoping for a resemblance.
Eggie, she does seem to have had black hair sometime in the past though -
