I think KQ 8 also suffered in the smae way as 7. It was just too old.
6 was saved by the lack of influence Williams had, who, despite being a pioneer, isn't a particularily good designer and is a dreadful storyteller.

Actually the reason kq8 turned out to be crap is because Roberta was not given complete control over the game. Ken William's explains a lot about it on his site www.sierragamers.com. If Al was given control over Larry than it would most likely not be like Kq8.

hehe cause roberta and ken's games were amazingly written and wonderfly scripted.

granted one must appreciate the history of the game and the pioneeringnessocity of it all but when over 90% of the game is a direct retelling of fairytales, story books, and mythology... it was kinda hard for me to even find where the 5000 years of history ended and the Williams' began

And Roberta had Scott sneak in all those raunchy sex scenes when Ken wasn't looking.

As much as I love the LSL series, especially 1-3 cause that's where Al Lowe intended it to be finished and completely wrapped up the series

That is another reason they skipped 4, as well as the trying to get the multi-player thing happening, begining again from 5 left it open to start another trilogy. I think all the info is on the website mentioned (allowe.com)

I don't like the idea of an 8 without Al, and I wouldn't want to force him to get involved either, it would be completely up to him if he wanted to and I still think would be a bad idea.

And for Sierra to make an 8 without him is quite rude, It's just a company that bought an already famous name, to make it easier for them to sell retarded products, Now they want to use an already legendary product that has enough sequels, And make some more dirty money (they could just sell crack, I'm sure there's even more dirty money there)

Somehow I think this is a really lazy company, what have they done since they stole the company, Half-Life, that's all I've heard about.

Hooray for fuckin capitalism, fucks everyone over, even the people that have the money, what can they do with all the spare cash, invest it, to get more, what's the point, you still die, then what's it good for, Ooh that's right, fucking up the next generation etc.

I am very interested in seeing Larry trying to get laid in college. The amount of potential there is insane. Jocks and frat boys and the obligatory prude dean of the school + a young Larry = Whee!

However, my faith in Sierra is less than zero, so I'll just make up the game in my head.

I would never buy a LSL game without Al being involved. It's just not... LSL!

But IF they make Larry ONE STEP closer to looking like an cartoon, then I'm not buying. He just keeps getting shorter, and his nose keeps getting loonger, and his eyes keep getting bigger. Damnit!

Anym

Am I the only one for whom those links to cgm.com don't seem to work?

Also, how could you "win" in a prequel? Isn't Larry supposed to be a virgin at the beginning of LSL1?
I look just like Bobbin Threadbare.

"As to the many emails I've received stating, "They can't do this to you" and "It's your character" etc. I'd like to say this: my contract with Sierra was for "work for hire" and all rights to the characters and stories I created remained the property of Sierra. They have the right to do with those characters as they wish."

thanks Al...

Well, in all honesty, there's nothing he can do.
Seems like he's accepted it.

For those who want to see the image, CGM changed the link address to stop the traffic they were getting, but I got ahold of the new one also.   I can post the new one if you guys want, but it would be easier just to go to http://www.adventuregamers.com/ and check out the news update from their front page.  They downloaded a copy yesterday and uploaded it to their own server.
