August 07, 2003 - In a move that almost caught us by surprise, LucasArts have announced that production on Full Throttle: Hell On Wheels, the 3D update to Tim Schafer's classic Full Throttle adventure game, has officially stopped. This is what Simon Jeffery, president of LucasArts had to say on the matter:

"We do not want to disappoint the many fans of Full Throttle and hope everyone can understand how committed we are to delivering the best quality gaming experience that we possibly can."

The last time we saw Full Throttle: Hell On Wheels was at this year's E3 conference. The game, which was scheduled to make an appearance at LucasArts' recent press day, was suspiciously missing in action leading to speculation that development on the game was not going as smooth as planned. Apparently, that seems to be exactly the case.

Whether a new Full Throttle game will ever see the light of day is unknown, but the license is a valuable asset to the company so don't be surprised if you hear something about the Pole Cats sooner rather than later.

That's odd??
Does anyone know more about it?
